Review of Monsters at Work Is All Laughs and Fun

Monsters at Work will be a new Disney+ series coming July 7th. Thedisinsider provided a great review of the first two episodes giving us an inside look.

Keep in mind that this new series Monsters at Work is really not about Mike and Sully. Instead a new character ispiring Scarer Tylor Tuskmon is our hero of the series.

The series focuses on where the original film left off as the focus has switched to laughs and not scares. This causes issues for Tylor Tuskmon who is a trained Scarer just out of Monsters University who doesn’t know how to continue with his dream.

Tylor represents the young dreamer in all of us: we go out into the world and attempt to achieve our dreams, but sometimes are met with rejection or unanticipated change (which may even be worse). These struggles and Tylor’s relatability give the series genuine heart that we have come to expect both from Pixar and Disney. However, there is still lots of fun to be had in the upbeat dialogue which was written by creator Bobs Gannaway and experienced animation writer Bart Jennett in these first two episodes.
