9 Resort Experience You May Not Have Tried Yet at Walt Disney World

Gran Destino Tower

Walt Disney World is constantly changing, updating and improving.  With these exciting new opportunities there always seems to be something new and fun to experience while visiting.  Here are 9 resort experiences you may not have tried yet.

1. Ride the Skyliner

Disney’s newest transportation system opened the last week of September providing guests with an all new and exciting way to get around the Walt Disney World Resort.  The new skyliner system can take guests from Caribbean Beach Resort, Pop Century Resort, Art of Animation and by the end of the year Riviera Resort to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.  Transportation between Hollywood Studios and Epcot is also an option for guests hoping to hop between these two parks.  Transportation is said to take between 5 and 20 minutes depending on guests starting and finishing spots making it very similar to other Disney transportation options.  This new exciting opportunity will be one guests won’t want to miss out on during their next vacation.

5. Have a drink at Barcelona or Dahlia Lounge

6. Catch the views and fireworks

Very few resorts on Disney property offer firework viewing options, but with the opening of Gran Destion Tower a newest option for guests is being provided.  Although it is not being advertised as a firework viewing restaurant or lounge, both Toledo and Dahlia have been reported as having views of some of the fireworks from both Epcot and Hollywood Studios.  If guests want to be out of the parks but still catch some of Disney’s amazing fireworks, this might be a great option.

7. Catch a meal at Sebastian’s Bistro

At Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort many updates and changes have taken place over the last few years.  One of the biggest improvements has been the overhaul of the table service restaurant here.  Guests can now enjoy Latin inspired flavors at Sebastian’s Bistro.  Offering excellent views of Caribbean Beach Resort, Sebastian’s is an excellent choice for a meal outside of the theme parks.

8. Relax at Banana Cabana

Another great experience at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is the pool bar Banana Cabana.  Guests can cool off and get a drink at this updated and refreshed lounge.  Great snacks to share can be ordered as well for a nice, relaxing afternoon or evening.

9. Meet some characters

Artist Pointe at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge went through some renovations last year.  Now guests are able to enjoy a meal and meet characters at this favorite dining location.  Story Book Dining allows guests to experience a three-course meal themed to Snow White.  Guests are brought themed drinks, appetizers, an entree and a dessert while dining in an amazingly theme dining area.  While dining, guests are able to meet Snow White herself as well as two dwarfs (typically Dopey and Grumpy) and the highlight for many is meeting the Evil Queen.  This is a fun, unique dining option for guests that are looking for a special evening.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
