Best Shakes at Walt Disney World

If you’ve ever visited Walt Disney World, you know that the Florida heat can be unrelenting, especially in the summer.  While there are a variety of ways to stay cool, some are more delicious than others!  We love trying out new ice cream and gelato flavors throughout the parks and resorts, and we especially love it when we discover amazing new milkshakes on property.  Sometimes they’re topped with cupcakes, sometimes they feature brave combinations of flavors you’ll have to taste to believe, and sometimes they even include alcohol for a strictly adult way to beat the heat.  So whether you’re an ice cream connoisseur or just want an escape from the Orlando sun, your ideal milkshake is just waiting for you at Walt Disney World!  Here are our favorite shakes on property – which ones have you tried?

1. Mickey Confetti Milk Shake

Beaches and Cream at Walt Disney World’s Beach Club Resort is well known for its delectable ice cream concoctions.  So unsurprisingly, it’s one of the best locations on property for milkshakes!  Our pick is the Mickey Confetti Milk Shake, which tastes as fantastic as it looks.  The base is vanilla, and there’s a whole frosted cupcake on top.  There are rainbow sprinkles galore, and even a chocolate Mickey balloon.  Even better: this milkshake comes with a plastic souvenir jar!

2. Sea Salt Caramel Quake Shake

We have trouble saying no to anything at Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop!  Milkshakes here are infused with Ghirardelli chocolate, which of course makes them irresistible.  The Sea Salt Caramel Quake Shake comes in three sizes.  Whichever size you choose, you’ll drool over the dreamy, creamy caramel, sea salt and whipped cream.  It’s a truly rich shake that can’t decide if it’s a beverage or a dessert!

4. All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Milkshakes

That’s right.  Walt Disney World cast members will keep bringing these yummy shakes until you tell them to stop!  Whispering Canyon Café at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge offers All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Milkshakes in chocolate, strawberry, caramel or vanilla.  You can’t go wrong with any of them, but the caramel receives especially high marks.  Make sure you visit on an empty stomach!

5. Peanut Butter and Jelly Milkshake

Who doesn’t love the classic combination of peanut butter and jelly?  This childhood combo tastes even better in milkshake form – and it’s popular with guests of all ages!  The Peanut Butter and Jelly Milkshake at Hollywood Studios’ 50’s Prime Time Café features vanilla ice cream, a ton of peanut butter and jelly, and of course, whipped cream and a cherry on top.

6. Rocky Road Milkshake

This tasty summer treat tastes great anytime of the year in Florida’s heat!  The Rocky Road Milkshake at Magic Kingdom’s Golden Oak Outpost in Frontierland is exactly how it sounds – Rocky Road ice cream, cocoa powder, whipped cream, and of course a perfectly toasted marshmallow on top.  If you’re a fan of chocolate and marshmallow, you will love this milkshake.

7. Candy Corn Milkshake

Our favorite ever milkshake at Walt Disney World, we enjoyed during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.  We don’t want to get your hopes up, because the seasonal offerings change each year, but if you do see the Candy Corn Milkshake on the menu the next time you visit WDW at Halloween, do yourself a favor and get one (or two…)!  Unlike many other Halloween offerings that just look like candy corn, this tantalizing milkshake is made with candy corn ice cream, so it looks AND tastes fabulous.  On top is a Mickey-shaped mashmallow, and a fluff of sweet cotton candy.  The orange tint and orange straw up the fun factor of this milkshake winner.

8. Smokey Bones Chocolate Shake

If you’re looking for a bit of a kick to your milkshake, we have the perfect pick for you.  Head to Trilo-Bites at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom and enjoy the Smokey Bones Chocolate Shake.  It’s listed under Alcoholic Beverages, rather than desserts or snacks, because it includes bourbon.  The bulk of the shake is basic chocolate, and the bourbon gives it the perfect bite.  Completing this adult milkshake is a slice of candied bacon, which might sound strange, but tastes amazing!
