7 Things You Will Love About Epcot’s Mexico Pavilion In Walt Disney World

7. Beautiful Music

A live Mariachi band plays on the Promenade or in the Table Service restaurant inside in the pyramid. Enjoy the classic Mexican songs that make you feel like celebrating. Violins, guitars and trumpets will get your toes tapping!

6. Beautiful artwork

Step inside and look at the cases spotlighting the Spirits in Wood or ‘Animales Fantasticos” carvings. Going further into the pavilion, walking downstairs into the marketplace you may see one of the talented artists carving or painting a Spirit in Wood. You will find the artist station next to the beautiful blue fountain.

5. Best themed shopping

Some of the best shopping is Plaza de Los Amigos, during a perpetual sunset inside the Mexican pavilion. You will find a colorful marketplace with little shops, carts, stands, as you would expect when traveling to a Mexican plaza. Shop for authentic souvenirs made in Mexico, apparel, jewelry, housewares, spices, snacks, candy, tequila and Kahlua items. Decorative Margarita glasses, pottery, outerwear, sombreros, piñatas, and Day of the Dead items are very popular in this shopping plaza.

4. Multiple dining options

La Hacienda de San Angel is the newest restaurant in Mexico, which is a table service restaurant offering great views of the World Showcase Lagoon and IllumiNations. The food is delicious and it is open for lunch and dinner. Inside the pavilion is San Angel Inn Restaurant, which overlooks the boat ride and the marketplace plaza. La Cantina de San Angel in the counter service restaurant serving meals and snacks as well as cold beverages. La Cava del Tequila is a cozy full bar with an extensive offering of Mexican tequilas. You can learn a bit about the history of Tequila inside La Cava and sign up for Tequila tastings. What is not to love about the warm comfort food and cold beverages of Mexico?

3. Great views of IllumiNations

You can choose a table in the covered seating area of La Cantina de San Angel to have a bite to eat, maybe a nice beverage and certainly a great view of IllumiNations each night. You will have to get there early though because it is an extremely popular spot.

1. An entertaining boat ride

This is a quiet cruise known as Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros. This ride tells the story of The Three Caballeros, Donald Duck, Jose Carioca and Panchito who are scheduled to perform this evening in Mexico City. Donald, being Donald, gets off track, enjoying some of the sights of Mexico. His friends go out to find him.

About Cassie

Cassie L. I am a lifelong Disney fan. I attended Walt Disney World in 1971, and was there during the opening week of EPCOT, and have visited the Disney Parks for than 30 times. I have had the privilege of visiting Disneyland as a child, and then again with my children. My family recently moved from the northeastern United States to the Walt Disney World area. I now have cast members in my family and enjoy hearing the magical stories at the end of a shift. I love visiting all of the parks and getting to try more Disney food and being able to share it with you to help you plan your own magical day at Disney.
