7 Things Walt Disney World Insiders Love About Quick Service Dining

One of the most difficult things to do at Walt Disney World is to plan where you will dine. In most cases this is challenging in everyday life, it only amplifies when you visit the most magical place on Earth and have so many different options. There are also other factors to consider, how do I eat at Disney World, not blow the budget, and get some variety in our diet? What if I told you that you can absolutely do everything listed above and do it at quick service restaurants at Disney? Without a doubt you can! You can enjoy variety, you can receive great service, and you can save time and money, while eating at Walt Disney World’s Quick Service Restaurants.

Here’s how:

7. Reservations are not needed

Disney enthusiasts love table service dining. It is a fantastic experience and something you should definitely experience on your trip. With that being said, it is getting harder and harder to make reservations. When you plan your itinerary decide which table service restaurants you must have and work on those. If you can only get one or two reservations, that’s okay. You will not need reservations for quick service restaurants. You can walk up to a counter, order your meal, find a table, eat your meal and get back to enjoying the park. This can be extremely helpful if you are trying to catch a parade or show and did not factor in that you would be starving an hour before your event starts.

6. Quick Service Dining Will Save You a Ton of Time

As mentioned above, in most cases you can quickly get in and out to catch your favorite parade or show. The average Table Service restaurant will take you 1.5-2.5 hours depending on your selections and party size. If you were to try to do that for 3 meals per day that is a great deal of time eliminated from your vacation. Depending on how many people are in your party, quick service dining can add a great deal of time back into your vacation. A party of 4 can get in and out of a quick service restaurant in about 45 minutes.

5. Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering Makes It Even Easier

It’s super simple to use Mobile Ordering at numerous Quick Service Restaurants throughout Disney World Property. Order and pay for your food from the MyDisneyExperience app and pick up your food when you arrive. It’s awesome! Quick Service locations accepting Mobile Ordering are spread throughout Walt Disney World property. Just check in advance on your MyDisneyExperience app if the quick service spot you are seeking offer Mobile Ordering.

4. Food Courts

Walt Disney World offers some of the best food courts you will ever experience. Many resorts such as Art of Animation, All Star Movies, Disney’s Caribbean Beach and many others offer great food court options. This can allow your entire family some variety. Someone may want a bacon cheese burger while someone else may want to try custom made pasta. While you will find most of the food courts in resorts, don’t forget about Sunshine Seasons in Epcot’s Future World. Sunshine Seasons will give you many options and it is in the same building as Soarin’ and Living With The Land attractions. If you find yourself 20-30 minutes early to Soarin’, grab a snack, drink, or small meal at Sunshine Seasons.

3. Everyone Can Eat Totally Different Cuisines

If you are not near a food court you can still have variety. For example, if you are in Epcot’s World Showcase you can grab tacos in Mexico and meet the rest of your party eating Chinese food in China! You may want the delicious Rib and Chicken combo at Fairfax Fare while someone else wants a Turkey Leg from Toluca Legs Turkey Company at Hollywood Studios. No Problem! There is a large seating area right behind Fairfax Fare where you can meet up and enjoy your meal together.

2. Indoor Seating

This can be a GREAT PERK! Florida is more often hot than not. Many Quick Service restaurants have outdoor seating. There are some that have indoor air-conditioned seating. All of the food courts have indoor seating. You can also sit inside at Cosmic Ray’s, Columbia Harbour House, and Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café just to name a few. These are great places to sit and re-charge while cooling off on one of those sweltering days in Florida.

1. Quick Service Does NOT Just Mean Burgers and Fries

This is a huge misconception. Walt Disney World does a great job of offering a huge variety of Quick Service Restaurants. You can get fantastic shrimp and fish at Columbia Harbor House in Magic Kingdom. You can get Chicken and Ribs at Fairfax Fare in Hollywood Studios. You can get some of the best bar-b-que you have ever tasted at Flame Tree BBQ in Animal Kingdom. There are a ton of options at Epcot throughout The World Showcase, but a huge favorite is the Chinese food from The Lotus Blossom Café and the fish and chips from Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the United Kingdom. If you are looking for burgers and fries you can definitely find those, but remember you don’t have to!

About Brandon Blanchard

Brandon Blanchard has been married for 14 years and has 5 children. All 7 Blanchards are infatuated with Disney World! Their Disney Infatuation started after his wife, Esme, convinced him to take their then four children (7 and under) to Disney in December of 2010. She had grown up going to Disney and wanted her own children to experience the magic! He told her that they could go once, but he didn't know why on earth he needed to use a whole week of his vacation time. There were only 4 parks! After walking down Main Street for the first time, Brandon looked at his wife and he started the next sentence with the most magical four words: “When we come back…” Disney World has become their happy place and can make everything right! After a series of corporate relocations, Brandon jumped on one that would move his family to Central Florida permanently in 2015. Professionally, Brandon is a manager for a Technical Support Company. Esme homeschools their 5 children who think it is SO COOL that they have the freedom and flexibility to visit theme parks weekly!
