A Walt Disney World vacation sure can be expensive. Don’t let the fear of an expensive vacation stop your from enjoying a magical trip! Never fear, Walt Disney World has hotels available in every price point. There are three hotel tiers to choose from: Deluxe, Moderate, and Value. As you might expect, the Value hotels are the least expensive. Choose from All-Star Movies, All-Star Music, All-Star Sports, Pop Century, or Art of Animation (and even the Campsites at Fort Wilderness Resort) for an awesome vacation. Here are six reasons I love the Value hotels.
6. Transportation
Don’t think that guests staying in a Value resort don’t get the same special Disney treatment! Besides the top notch service from all Cast Members, Value resort folks still receive other on-property perks. To me, the biggest perk to staying on property is definitely the complimentary transportation. It starts with Disney’s Magical Express, which picks you (and your luggage!) up at the Orlando airport, and takes your family to your home-away-from-home. Once you’re at Walt Disney World, Disney buses will take you to all four theme parks, the two water parks, and to Disney Springs. The buses pick up guests about every twenty minutes. If staying at Disney’s Art of Animation or Disney’s Pop Century resorts, you can also take advantage of the Disney Skyliner to connect to and from EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Using the on-site transportation saves so much time and hassle compared to driving and parking yourself. Keep in mind, if you do choose to drive your own car, you will be charged for overnight parking at the resort. Parking at the theme parks however is free for resort guests.
5. Extra Magic Hours
Another amazing perk to staying at any Walt Disney World resort hotel is being eligible for Extra Magic Hours! This is when a park either opens an hour early or stays open a couple hours late, just for on-property guests! Extra time in the parks? I’m there! Extra Magic Hours are a great opportunity to experience classic attractions without a ridiculous wait. It’s also my favorite time to take pictures without so many people getting in my shot.
4. Kid friendly
Walt Disney World is a magical vacation place, especially for families with small kids. However, the “nice” hotels can feel a little stuffy and like you need to be on your best behavior. Not exactly conducive to small kids hyped up for the parks. At the Value hotels, the whimsical, relaxed atmosphere, not to mention the other young families, will put everyone at ease.
3. Characters
You won’t find any character meals at the Value resorts. Value resorts may not have the character dining but they do have larger than life characters! You can enjoy some of your favorite Disney classic characters all over the resort. At Pop Century, check out Lady and Tramp, or Baloo and Mowgli. At the All Star hotels, look for Pongo and Perdita, and Huey, Louie, and Dewey, and everyone’s pal, Mickey Mouse! And of course, who can forget about Art of Animation? This resort is a hot-bed of characters, with whole sections dedicated to The Little Mermaid, Cars, The Lion King, and Finding Nemo.

2. Food Courts
Sure, you won’t find any table service restaurants at the Value resorts (except Fort Wilderness campsites), but the counter service restaurants are both great dining options. In fact, Everything Pop over at Pop Century is one of my favorite counter service restaurants at Walt Disney World. These restaurants are super convenient for a quick breakfast or snack, even a full meal! They count as a quick service credit on the Disney Dining Plan. Plus, the counter service restaurants at the Value hotels are even eligible for the Tables in Wonderland discount!
1. Happy Wallet
The biggest reason to choose a Value resort? The price of course! These are the cheapest hotels on Walt Disney World property. Vacations can get expensive, and choosing a Value resort hotel is an obvious way to save. That means, you can spend your hard earned bucks on other magical experiences, like adding a Park Hopper, dining in a new restaurant, or another trip to Walt Disney World!
