There isn’t a lot that I love more than a Disney Cruise. If I were to pick my ideal vacation, it’d be a really long Disney Cruise, hands down. Disney Cruises aren’t like other cruises or even other vacations. These are special. They’re luxurious, carefree, exciting, and truly a treat. I could probably write a list of 100 reasons why I love Disney Cruise Line, but here are my top 5:
5. It’s Completely Relaxing
As wonderful as a Disney World vacation is, it’s rarely relaxing. There’s so much to do and see and so many places to walk. Not so on a Disney Cruise. For 3, 4, 5, 7, or more days, you are invited to just be. This means that if you want to do nothing but sit by the pool with a book for a week, you have full permission. But even if you want to do lots of activities on board, it’s not a hassle. You do have to walk a little bit to get from one end of the ship to the other but you’re constantly discovering things and soaking everything in, so nothing feels like work.
4. Unlimited Food
Oh my goodness, the food. Food everywhere, all day long, everyday, for a week straight. As Kuzco would say: bring it on. The food on these cruises is awesome. On the top decks there are several quick serve places that are usually open all day and have pizza, hamburgers, grab and go, etc. Don’t forget ice cream! There are also buffet options open every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The main restaurants are great and always open for a rotational dinner, which means that each night you and your servers will be at a different restaurant. And there’s room service. And specialty food at special events. So basically, if you ever want food, you can get it. But be warned that you will never actually be hungry on this vacation.
3. The Fleet’s Beauty
Find me a luxury cruise ship more beautiful than the Disney Cruise Line fleet! I dare you. These ships are works of art, carefully crafted with love and innovation. Disney decorated the outsides with the colors of Mickey Mouse himself. And the insides are meant for elegant story telling. There is so much art and grandeur about these ships. People are sometimes afraid that Disney Cruises will be too “kiddy,” but that is so not the case. The detail and care that goes into every little corner is astonishing. You will find hidden Mickey’s around, but you’ll mostly find magical art pieces and amazing architecture. These ships are nothing short of elegant, graceful, fun, and beautiful.

2. The Crew
The crew on a Disney Cruise is different than anywhere else. As great as Cast Members are in the Parks, Disney Cruise Crew goes to infinity and beyond. The Cruises are special because that Crew stays with you for the entire voyage. You are with your dining staff every night and see them during the days. You get to know the nice guy serving drinks on the top deck. You chat with the college student earning her ears in the merchandise shop. These people become your friends. And they will do anything and everything they can to ensure that your vacation is as magical as possible.
1. Magic is Real
It seems magical enough that a 65,000 ton hunk of metal could float, let alone sail around the world. And yet. From the second you step into the lobby on that first blissful day, you are surrounded with magical moments. From fireworks on the top deck to Elsa making it snow to casually running into Captain Hook in the elevator, magic is everywhere. Or how about an entire restaurant that changes colors as you eat? Or your own drawings come to life on a screen? Or maybe even something simpler: like a little boy meeting Mickey for the first time? If that’s not magic, I don’t know what is.
