Disney Vacations are all about making memories together. Whether you want some special mother-daughter bonding time with your young princess, or are looking to spend quality time with your own mom, there are plenty of memorable activities, or as my own daughter would say “fun stuff,” to revel in!
10. Senses – A Disney Spa
Take some time to relax during your vacation and treat yourselves like royalty! Senses – A Disney Spa, with locations at the Grand Floridian and Saratoga Springs resorts, offers facials, massages, body wraps and more. They even offer kids services exclusively designed for your young royals, ages 4 through 12. Treat your young princess to a pedicure or manicure just like mom!
9. Afternoon Tea at Grand Floridian
At the far end of the Grand Floridian’s stately main lobby, you will discover the delightful Garden View Tea Room. Overlooking the beautiful grounds, afternoon tea is served here 7 days a week. There are a variety of options to please any palate, including Mrs. Potts Tea for little princesses. I recommend enjoying your tea around 3:00pm when music begins to play in the lobby courtesy of the Grand Floridian piano player or live orchestra playing ragtime, jazz and popular Disney tunes. Take your time and savor the experience. One of the highlights of enjoying afternoon tea with my own daughter was when she told me she was going to pour her tea “just like Sofia the First!”
8. Pamper Yourself at the Salon
Children and adults alike can delight in a variety of services at the salons of Walt Disney World, but for something extra special enjoy a regal makeover with the Character Couture Package! Disney stylists will transform your hair, makeup and nails using classic characters as inspiration. Packages are available for all ages at the Ship Shape Salon at the Beach Club, Ivy Trellis Salon at the Grand Floridian, and the recently opened Salon by the Springs at the Wilderness Lodge!

7. Lounge by the Pool
If you ask my daughter what her favorite Disney activity with mom is, she will tell you it’s spending time at the pool! Take a break from hustle of the parks and enjoy some time poolside. It’s a great way to slow down and reconnect during your vacation. Disney has so many wonderful resorts with great pools, each with their own fun themes. My 7-year-old is particularly fond of the Lava Pool at the Polynesian that offers a zero-depth entry point, similar to a beach. And speaking of a beach, Stormalong Bay at the Yacht & Beach Club resorts is also a favorite with its sand-bottomed pool and lazy river.
6. Horse Drawn Carriage Ride
Relax together in a horse drawn carriage ride along the charming Sassagoula River at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, arguably one of the most scenic resorts on property. Sit back and enjoy the rhythmic sound of the hoofbeats hitting the ground below as you take in all the surrounding beauty. If you are more inclined to enjoy the views of a lush pine and cypress forest and wildlife, Horse Drawn Carriage Rides are also available at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort Area.
5. Perfectly Princess Tea Party
Treat your young princess to an immersive princess experience at the Perfectly Princess Tea Party where you will both indulge in Royal Revelry. This experience is offered on select mornings at the Grand Floridian where you will be regaled with music, dancing, storytelling and more. Adults will enjoy tea service and accompaniments while young princesses will sip on apple juice “tea” and a small feast. Your princess will also go home with a host of gifts including an 18-inch Princess Aurora doll, tiara, and more.
4. Portrait Session
Capturing the memories is always a big part of our Disney vacations. Disney’s PhotoPass service is a great way to capture photos of everyone throughout Walt Disney World Resort, but did you know you can also have your own private professional photo shoot? Disney’s Fine Art Photography offers various portrait packages with a private photographer at your choice of many locations throughout Walt Disney World. What an amazing way to capture some mother and daughter magic!
3. Princess Dining
Indulge in one of Disney World’s amazing restaurants while your favorite princesses stop by to greet you, pose for photos, and sign autographs. For the most illustrious of princess dining experiences you’ll want to head to Cinderella’s Royal Table at Magic Kingdom. You’ll also love Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus in Epcot, and for an extra perk stop by Anna & Elsa’s Royal Somerhus just around the corner to say hello before or after your meal. At Cinderella’s Happily Ever After Dinner at 1900 Park Fare you will see both Cinderella and Prince Charming, and at the Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno you’ll be excited to meet Ariel & Prince Eric along with Rapunzel & Flynn Ryder!
2. Meet Minnie Mouse
There are wonderful opportunities for meet and greets with your favorite Disney characters throughout the theme parks, and many character dining options as well. Make that meet and greet a little extra glamorous and meet Mickey and Minnie Starring in Red Carpet Dreams at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Minnie is decked out in her red carpet couture and ready to greet the paparazzi – and you!
1. Shopping at Disney Springs
Sometimes a girl just needs time to shop! There are over 100 shopping options at Disney Springs from stores you already know and love to Disney-centric boutiques. You will find the world’s largest Disney Store here where all your souvenir dreams will come true! Make sure you check out The Dress Shop at Cherry Tree Lane in the Marketplace Co-Op. The nostalgic designs are a must for any Disney Parks fan!
