Would YOU Recommend Disney World to First-Time Visitor?

For years, Disney World has symbolized the ultimate family vacation. But 2025 feels different.
Prices are up. Opinions are split. Even some of the most loyal fans are walking away, unsure if the experience is worth it anymore. That brings us to the question: Would you still recommend it to someone who’s never been?

Let’s break it down, starting with the problems.

#1: It’s Expensive—Really Expensive

  • A one-day park ticket? Over $200 per person.

  • Lightning Lane add-ons can go as high as $449 a day, depending on demand.

  • On top of that, there are hotel stays, meals, and all those adorable (but overpriced) souvenirs.

  • First-timers could easily spend thousands before realizing just how much everything costs.

#2: Say Goodbye to Some Old Favorites

  • Splash Mountain is officially closed, reimagined into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

  • Tom Sawyer Island, Rivers of America, and the Liberty Belle are gone too.

  • Many guests remember that Frontierland is being phased out to accommodate newer lands like Piston Peak.

  • For longtime fans, it feels like losing a piece of Disney’s heart.

#3: Disney’s New Content Has Fans Divided

  • Movies and shows focus more on “woke” themes, according to some frustrated fans.

  • Classic characters are being reworked, and some beloved stories are left behind.

  • What used to feel timeless now feels political to some audiences.

  • That shift has pushed away fans who once felt like Disney was an escape from the real world.

BUT Is the Magic Returning?

  • First-timers still get to experience the big moments: fireworks, hugs with Mickey, and jaw-dropping rides.

  • Attractions like Flight of Passage, Tron Lightcycle Run, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind are thrilling and beautifully executed.

  • When Disney gets it right, there’s still no place quite like it.

Disney’s Trying to Course-Correct

  • The Lilo & Stitch live-action film hit a nostalgic sweet spot.

  • There’s clearly an effort to bring back that classic Disney heart with newer content.

  • Fresh park shows like Unfairly Ever After and Finding Nemo: The Big Blue and Beyond are already winning the hearts of fans, new and old.

Discounts Are Rolling Out

  • Summer 2025 discounts include up to 25% off resort stays.

  • Cool Kids Summer includes free perks and 50% off tickets for kids (3-9 years old).
  • Select ticket bundles come with a $100 bonus card for food or merchandise.
  • Plus, more exciting discounts are coming this fall.
  • While it’s not exactly a game-changer, it helps make a trip more doable for first-timers.

What Do YOU Think?

Disney World isn’t what it used to be, but maybe that’s not entirely a bad thing.

If you’re honest about the costs and ready for a slightly different version of the parks, a first-time trip can still be magical.

Would you still recommend Disney World to someone who’s never been?
