Worth The Wait: New Experiences Coming To Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World is undergoing some major changes! While these changes have resulted in the loss of some favorite attractions and experiences, they are also making way for brand new experiences that guests are sure to absolutely love. New experiences are being created including everything from nighttime entertainment to thrill rides, family fun, and more. With so many wonderful changes coming to Walt Disney World, the wait will be well worth it!

 

1. TRON

The Magic Kingdom is set to enjoy a brand new attraction in Tomorrowland! TRON is based on the popular TRON Lightcycle Power Run attraction in Shanghai Disneyland and will bring guests on a thrilling race through the digital world made famous in the film. Featuring futuristic lightcycles for guests to ride on, this high speed attraction is sure to bring big crowds and big thrills when it opens! While TRON was originally scheduled to be open in time for Disney’s 50th Anniversary (Oct. 1, 2021), it’s looking like we’ll have to wait a little longer for this one. Disney has yet to set an opening date.

2. Future World

One of the areas changing the most is Epcot, and Future World in particular. The area has already began to see much change in recent months and over the next few years will be home to brand new experiences and attractions. In addition to these experiences, Future World will also receive an updated look with new pathways, fountains, a wonderful statue of Walt Disney, and a tiered pavilion offering a new festival center as well as beautiful views from the green spaced-rooftop.

3. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

The largest addition coming to Epcot’s Future World in upcoming years will be the highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Housed in the old Universe of Energy Pavilion, this attraction will be a high speed roller coaster that uses new technology to rotate guests at times so that they can change direction while rocketing along. While many details are still unknown for the attraction itself, guests do know that they will be able to enjoy a high speed launch backwards! Disney has yet to set an opening date, but rumors are swirling we can expect to take a ride on this one in 2022.

4. Journey of Water

The pathway leading from the central area of Future World to The Seas with Nemo and Friends Pavilion will also be undergoing a transformation in the upcoming years. This path will be brought to life with the Journey of Water experience that will roughly be based on the character Moana. While there are still few details available for this experience as well, it is known that guests will be able to directly interact with water in inventive ways.

5. Space 220

Mission: SPACE is a popular attraction in Epcot’s Future World that allows guests to either enjoy a serene orbit of the Earth or a thrilling adventure to Mars, depending on the Green or Orange Team. This pavilion will also be expanding with the addition of Space 220, a brand new restaurant that will feature larger than life windows and technology to make diners feel as though they are enjoying their meals in the beauty of space. Offering incredible views and what is sure to be a delicious menu, Space 220 is sure to be a popular dining addition to Epcot!

6. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

In addition to Future World, World Showcase in Epcot will also be seeing some major changes leading up to the fiftieth anniversary celebration in 2021. The France Pavilion will see the addition of the highly anticipated Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure where guests will board trackless cars shaped like mice and set off on an adventure with Remy. Featuring a combination of larger than life props and screens, this new experience was inspired by Ratatouille: L’Adventure Totalement Toquee de Remy in Disneyland Paris and is sure to be just as popular in Epcot. Disney has announced Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is scheduled to open on October 1, 2021!

7. HarmonioUS

2019 sadly saw the final farewell of the beloved Illuminations: Reflections of Earth in Epcot and the introduction of Epcot Forever, a nighttime show featuring the music of Epcot as well as fireworks, kites, and more. While Epcot Forever is certainly enjoyable, it is actually a temporary experience as the park gears up to debut HarmonioUS which will celebrate how Disney music can inspire and unite people from all over the world. The new nighttime show will feature brand new technology including floats, LED panels, fireworks, and more making it much anticipated! HamonioUS is set to debut on October 1, 2021!
