Train Crashes Into Operational Disney Store, No Injuries Reported
Guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort this week witnessed a shocking sight: a full-sized steam train appeared to have crashed straight into one of Disney’s most popular shopping destinations. Thankfully, no one was hurt, and the “accident” turned out to be part of a brand-new Christmas display featuring a mischievous Disney character.
Chaos at the World of Disney

The World of Disney at Disney Springs, known as the largest merchandise store on Disney property, recently debuted its 2025 holiday decorations. On November 3, guests noticed an elaborate new setup featuring Stitch from Lilo & Stitch (2002) — and the little blue alien seems to have caused quite a bit of trouble.
Photos shared online by X (formerly known as Twitter) user @magiccitymayhem showed the scene: a steam locomotive “crashed” into the middle of the store, surrounded by flashing railroad signs, festive décor, and dozens of themed items for sale.

Stitch’s Christmas Takeover
Every year, Disney transforms its parks, resorts, and Disney Springs into a winter wonderland as soon as Halloween ends. This year is no different. Though the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party event won’t kick off until November 7, Disney Springs has already gone all in on the holiday season.

Inside the World of Disney, Stitch has “taken over” the new Christmas merchandise area, complete with a crashed train and playful chaos. The whimsical display serves as a backdrop for a variety of Lilo & Stitch holiday merchandise, including ornaments, plush toys, and collectibles.
Bring Home the Holiday Fun
Even if you can’t visit Disney Springs in person, you can still bring home part of the display. The Disney Store website now features much of the same holiday Stitch collection online. The Stitch light-up figure, featuring the character tangled in Christmas lights and wearing a reindeer costume, retails for $129.00.

Fans can also pick up a pair of matching Stitch and Angel plushies for $29.99 each.

The Lilo & Stitch Sketchbook Ornament, perfect for adding a touch of alien mischief to your tree, sells for $29.99, while the candy cane Stitch ornament goes for $26.99.

A Festive Scene at Disney Springs

Beyond the Stitch “train crash,” Disney Springs is filled with festive sights for the 2025 holiday season. Guests can stroll through elaborately themed Christmas trees, sparkling window displays, and seasonal decorations throughout Walt Disney World Resort’s shopping and dining district.
