While millions of humans on planet Earth are gearing up to celebrate the fall and winter holidays, Wookiees are eagerly anticipating a special holiday called Life Day, which is celebrated on November 17, and this year, Disney Parks has debuted brand-new merchandise and in-park food and drink offerings in celebration of the occasion.

It’s not just Wookiees who are celebrating Life Day, however, as the invitation to join in the yearly celebration is extended to beings from all across the galaxy–even human beings on Earth.

Star Wars fans don’t have to wait to get into the festive spirit this November, as Life Day celebrations begin on November 17. A longstanding Wookiee tradition commemorating family, joy, and harmony, the celebration is not dissimilar to our own holiday season here on Earth.
Life Day brings people from across the galaxy together to observe the holiday with festive décor, twinkling lights, and joyous activities. Before the festivities begin, we have gathered the best Star Wars-inspired apparel, merchandise, collectibles, and more to help fans get into the Life Day spirit.
What is Life Day?
So what is Life Day? According to Star Wars.com, Life Day is “a longstanding Wookiee tradition that celebrates the values and tenets of Wookiee culture, including family, joy, and harmony. While Life Day is a celebration traditionally held at the Tree of Life on Kashyyyk and observed by extended Wookiee families, Wookiees throughout the galaxy still mark the day.”

In celebration of the Wookiee holiday of Life Day, Disney has unveiled some exciting merchandise commemorating the holiday, and it becomes available on Life Day, November 17, only at shopDisney.com. Life Day apparel includes casual styles like this hoodie in red, which features beloved characters from the Star Wars film franchise like Chewie, Luke, Leia, and Han Solo in stylized screen art. The back of the hoodie reads, “Life Day 2023: It Binds the Galaxy Together.”

The shopDisney website even has a traditional red Life Day robe available for purchase–or, as it’s listed on shopDisney.com, a Life Day Fleece Throw with Sleeves for Adults. The throw features long sleeves and the words “Life Day” embroidered on the front chest.

The collection also includes a lightweight Life Day tank top that’s available at the Hot Topic website, just in case it’s too warm for fans to snuggle in a fleece throw.

Other Collectibles Ring in the Festive Holiday
Disney is also showcasing holiday collectibles in celebration of Life Day in addition to its seasonal apparel. Per Disney Parks Blog:
Get into the Life Day spirit with holiday collectibles. Fans will not want to miss out on adding the 3-3/4″ scale Chewbacca Life Day figure from Hasbro, complete with a retro-style Kenner blister pack, to their collections. It will be available exclusively on shopDisney and at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort beginning November 17.

Make sure to decorate your tree this holiday season with the new Han Solo and Chewbacca Life Day Sketchbook Ornament, available tomorrow at Disneyland Resort and on shopDisney.
