Woman Suffers Brain Bleed After Fight at Magic Kingdom

It is mid-June, and we are now getting into peak summer season at the Walt Disney World Resort. The days are hot, the lines are long, and Guests’ patience can quickly wear thin. One of the times when crowds can be heaviest is in the evening when everyone starts to gather around to watch the nighttime spectaculars — Disney Enchantment at the Magic Kingdom and Harmonious at EPCOT. Many Guests like to grab a spot on Main Street, U.S.A., to watch Enchantment and get there early to make sure they have a good location.

Unfortunately, it was during the time when Guests were gathering on Main Street, U.S.A. to watch the show that there was yet another fight that broke out at the Park. According to WESH 2 — an Orlando-based news station –, a recently released sheriff’s report states that on May 9, a woman was injured so severely in the fight that she was left with bleeding on her brain. She was rushed to the hospital by the Reedy Creek Fire Department.

WESH 2 reported:

Prior to the confrontation, a 40-year-old man claims a 35-year-old couple and their daughter attempted to move in front of him and his wife.

The 35-year-olds told deputies their daughter was elbowed by the 40-year-old man’s wife when they tried to move forward for the fireworks show.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the 35-year-old woman then grabbed his wife’s hair, yanking her to the ground for allegedly elbowing her daughter.

The 35-year-old’s husband allegedly tried to break up the fight and the woman whose hair had been pulled fell and hit her head.

Then, the husbands of the two women began fighting.

Orange County police were called, and a Cast Member informed them that they had not seen the fight, but had heard a woman scream and saw her fall to the ground. Documents filed with the Florida State Attorney’s Office show that both men and the uninjured woman have all been charged with assault. The younger couple with the daughter was also issued a trespass warning by Disney. That is actually a light punishment by Disney, considering they could have chosen to ban the couple from the Parks for life.

Please remember that, no matter how disrespectful you feel other Guests are acting, fighting is completely unacceptable and not allowed on Disney property. If you find yourself having an escalating issue with other Guests, you can seek out the nearest Cast Member and see if they are able to assist you. If you do not want to find a Cast Member, just walk away from the situation.
