Why You Should Honeymoon at Walt Disney World Resort

Ready to start your married life in a magical way? Look no further than Walt Disney World Resort. We’ve talked about incredible spots to get married at Walt Disney World Resort. Still, there are also so many excellent honeymoon options on the Disney Property. If you are craving the traditional Disney Park vacation, you can enjoy that pace. However, there are plenty of Disney vacation surprises to experience on a Disney honeymoon. This is why you should honeymoon at Walt Disney World Resort.

Exciting Activities Outside the Parks

As you probably know, Walt Disney World is so much more than just a theme Park. A Walt Disney World honeymoon can be the perfect fit for couples looking to experience activities outside the theme Park scene. Cooking classes, wine tastings, surfing lessons, and guided private tours are just a few additional fun options for couples to enjoy outside the Parks. Even couples that are seasoned Disney veterans can find new activities to enjoy on their honeymoon at Walt Disney World.

Plan your honeymoon to experience the little extras and see part of this Disney destination that you have not seen on past trips. Classes, tours, new attractions, or new Disney Resort options are all ways to change it up as you celebrate this new chapter of your life.

Romantic Meals Options

Disney dining is as romantic as a meal can get! Stunning views, incredible culinary creations, outstanding drink pairings, and the opportunity to celebrate at meals with pixie-dust-covered tables at your seat amps up any meal. California Grill at the top of the Contemporary is one of my favorite romantic dining spots on the Disney Property, but many options exist on the Disney Property.

Maybe there is a specific cuisine you hope to explore on your honeymoon, or you want to try out a character dining experience for the first time. Big celebrations like a wedding make for a great reason to experience more elite Disney dining experiences like the Chef’s Table experience at Victoria and Albert’s Restaurant at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.

You could also head to Disney Springs to enjoy a curated Spanish Chef’s Table culinary experience at Jaleo by Jose Andres. Regardless of where you dine, remember to tell Cast Members you are celebrating your honeymoon. You may get a fun surprise!

Disney Resort Hotels Are Incredible

With Disney Resort Hotel rooms as gorgeous as those at Walt Disney World Resorts, there is no shame in spending time sleeping in, enjoying Resort movie channels, or returning to your hotel room for a midday rest. Honeymoons are about fun AND relaxation. Recovering from wedding stress is easy at a gorgeous Walt Disney World Resort. Pool days at the Resort were a highlight of my honeymoon at the Yacht Club Resort.

Take advantage of the special occasion and splurge on a Resort you might not ordinarily choose. Disney deluxe resorts like Beach Club Resort or Disney’s Contemporary Resort are incredible choices, but moderate resorts are magical too. Jazz up your honeymoon with classic southern charm at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort.

Get a taste of the Caribbean without leaving central Florida when you stay at Caribbean Beach Resort. There are plenty of options to explore, from value to deluxe resorts when planning your Disney honeymoon.

The incredibly personal way that Cast Members share in the magic makes a Disney World honeymoon so fun. Hearing “congratulations” from Cast Members and other Guests makes you feel special. The nifty honeymoon buttons you are given at check-in make it easy to be spotted by Cast Members in the Park. When you get home, you can store these magical memory buttons in a fun honeymoon shadowbox or album to remember your magical honeymoon.

Get a Taste of the World in EPCOT World Showcase

No passport? No problem! If you wish to get the culture and fun of an international honeymoon, Disney World Resort is the place for you. Exploring international cuisine and culture has never been easier at EPCOT. Enjoy the flavor, romance, music, and products of countries across the globe in World Showcase without ever leaving the EPCOT Park. Sure the Eiffel Tower in EPCOT is a bit smaller than the original landmark, but you can still get delicious crepes, and you can enjoy them within a stone’s throw of an excellent fish and chips shop (Yorkshire County Fish) in the nearby United Kingdom pavilion.

No Disney product or service beats the convenience and value of Disney Memory Maker for a honeymooning couple. Purchase Disney Memory Maker to access all the awesome photos you take with your spouse on your honeymoon. No need to ask passing Guests to take your picture. Disney Photopass photographers efficiently take great quality photos that you can access online the day they are taken. In addition to pictures throughout the Parks, Guests can download ride photos from their trip with Disney Memory Maker.

Extra Magic Hours Are Romantic

During evening extra magic hours, the Park transforms into a quieter and more magical place perfect for couples. Watching evening entertainment in the Parks, meandering the lamp-lit paths of Fantasyland, and enjoying snacks along Main Street, U.S.A. is even more beautiful during extra magic hours.

Attraction lines are much shorter in the evening, allowing couples to walk onto some rides or spend only a short time waiting in line. Experience some of your favorite rides in the moonlight to enjoy new aspects of the ride and to see the Park from a neat vantage point. I am a massive fan of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover and The Magic Carpets of Aladdin for evening rides.

Disney Spas

Nothing says romance like candlelit couples massages, soothing facials, and invigorating body treatments. Walt Disney World Spas are located at Disney’s Grand Floridian, Saratoga Springs Resort, and The Dolphin Resort.

Guests need not be staying at the Resort they are receiving spa treatment at. Couples can book treatments in advance or when they arrive at Walt Disney World. Splurging on a spa service for the first time on a Disney vacation is the perfect way to enjoy your honeymoon.

Wedding Merch

No other honeymoon destination will have the sweet newlywed gifts available for purchase like Disney does. I am a massive fan of Disney merch, and Disney World delivers on all the cute wedding and newlywed items. Mr. & Mrs. Shirts, mugs, and the iconic bride and groom mickey ears are available.

It’s a once-in-a-lifetime vacation, so go ahead and buy the ears. You’ll be glad you did! Honeymooning celebration buttons are given to newlyweds at check-in to wear for the duration of the trip.

Set Your Taste and Pace

The number one reason I chose a Walt Disney World honeymoon after my 2015 wedding, was the ease of customizing the magic. Transportation, logistics, and planning can be abandoned as soon as you enter Walt Disney World.

The trip can be as loose or structured as you choose or can strike a balance between the two. Honeymooning on a budget at Walt Disney World is no problem, with value dining and lodging available for Guests. Above all, Walt Disney World is a great honeymoon option because it is customer-oriented, stress-free, and offers excellent activities for newlyweds. A Disney honeymoon ensures a magical start to any love story!

About Katie Chapman

Hey There! I am a Georgia native with a passion for writing, traveling, cooking, decorating, pugs and of course all things Disney. Growing up in South Georgia just a few hours from Walt Disney World made for a magical childhood. Some of my best memories were made on Main Street U.S.A. with my sister watching SpectroMagic nighttime parade or beside my grandparents, parents and extended family at Chef Mickey’s celebrating on a family vacation. Epcot was my favorite park from a young age and I credit it with my interest in and love for international travel. As a kid I loved meeting characters and watching films around World Showcase and could spend hours exploring each of the countries in Epcot. These days, my husband and I get away to explore a new country whenever we can and even incorporate trips to The Disney Store and Disney Parks around the world in our travels. One of our travel goals is to visit every Disney Park in the world. I love writing about Disney restaurants, park tips, Disney outfit inspiration and Disney history. Pocahontas is my favorite Disney Princess (90s kid here!) but Mr. Toad is my spirit animal. When I’m not at Disney I’m reading about park history, watching Disney documentaries and shopping vintage Disney merch for park outfits. I never pass up a reservation to Ohana, an empty seat on Living with the Land or a Violet Sake.
