Why This November Might Just Be the BEST Time to Visit Walt Disney World

Credit: Disney

As we head into the month of November, we are going to look at why this month might be the BEST time to visit Walt Disney World this year!

1. Weather

One of the reasons that November is a great time to visit is because of the weather.  Those of us from the northern states have been in winter mode for a few weeks now, but not in Florida.  In Florida, the weather is typically a mix of warm and cool.  Highs can reach the 80s still giving you the chance to swim and wear shorts during the day, but also the evenings start to get cooler allowing you to grab a sweatshirt and enjoy a movie under the stars at the resort.  November weather can make it an excellent time to visit.

2. Crowds

Right now, Walt Disney World parks are operating at a 25% capacity.  Knowing that information, this could make this November one of the least crowded options.  Typically, crowds are busy during Thanksgiving week; however, if you can plan to be in the parks prior to Thanksgiving, you will have the chance to see lower than normal crowds.  This combined with the 25% capacity you could see this November being one of the lower crowd times.

3. Final Days for Taste of Epcot’s International Food and Wine

This year Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival saw an adjustment as it became the Taste of Epcot’s Food and Wine.  This event started in July when Epcot reopened and gave guests the chance to experience many of the food booths they have come to love.  With a little sprinkle of Flower and Garden, this festival offered a lot to guests.  November will be the last chance to catch this festival as it will be wrapping up on November 22nd.

4. Festival of Holidays Starts

As the Taste of Epcot’s Food and Wine wraps up, the Festival of the Holiday will start on November 27th.  Having this festival starting at the end of November makes traveling during this last part of November one of the best options for the end of 2020.  New holiday kitchens will bring delicious food and drinks to the World Showcase making it a wonderful time to be visiting.

5. Holiday Decorations Start

Disney announced that decorations in Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom will be able to be seen starting November 6th.  Being able to see the parks decorated in their holiday glory makes November a fantastic time to visit.  Disney has announced many new and fun ways they will be bringing the holiday season to the parks even during these modified times and we can’t wait to see the magic it brings.

6. Increased Night Hours

During the modified capacity, Disney has reduced hours of operation.  Just recently however, we have seen an adjustment to park hours that will allow guests to be in the park in the evenings.  We saw Epcot’s hours moved to an 8 pm closing and Magic Kingdom hours extend to 7 pm on a lot of days.  Disney seems to be constantly adjusting hours so make sure to always check your My Disney Experience app for the most up-to-date hours, but November will likely allow for more time under the lights than previous months which we are thrilled about.

7. Minnie’s Hollywood and Dine Options

We are so excited that Minnie’s Hollywood and Dine has opened back up to guests.  Until November 5th, guests can enjoy Halloween Dine where Minnie and her friends will be in the Spooktacular Halloween costumes.  Then on November 6th, Minnie’s Holiday Dine will start featuring holiday cheer and joy of the season.  We are so happy that we can see Minnie and friends in their adorable holiday, themed outfits once again.

8. Holiday Fun

This November might be the best time to visit Walt Disney World because of all the fun holiday options throughout the parks.  You know there will be delicious themed treats such as cupcakes that will be Instagram worthy.  New holiday merchandise will be out in the parks and in November you will first grab at the new spirit jerseys and ears.  Finally, Disney has already released adorable holiday themed masks so take time to get some photos taken in the parks with those masks.

This November might just be the best time to visit Walt Disney World as new festivals, dining options and holiday cheer enter the parks and add extra magic to the trip.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
