Why These 5 Disneyland Treats Deserve a Spot in Disney World

Disneyland is famous for its unique foodie offerings, and many fans even argue that the West Coast parks have better snacks than their East Coast counterparts.

While both resorts offer plenty of tasty treats, there are a few Disneyland exclusives we wish would make their way over to Walt Disney World. Here are five favorites from the original park and where we think they’d fit best in Florida.

5. Matterhorn Macaroon

This classic Disneyland treat is practically a rite of passage. A soft, coconut macaroon topped with white chocolate to resemble the snowy peak of the Matterhorn. It’s simple, sweet, and undeniably iconic.

Sure, it’s location-specific to the Matterhorn Bobsleds, but Disney World has its own mountain worth celebrating: Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom. With some rebranding, this could easily become a Himalayan-themed snack sold near the ride’s entrance.

4. Baymax Macaron

This adorable macaron, filled with chocolate hazelnut spread and buttercream, is easily the cutest treat in San Fransokyo Square.

Character-themed snacks are surprisingly rare at U.S. parks—especially compared to Tokyo Disneyland, where characters like the green aliens from Toy Story are hidden in all kinds of food. That’s why seeing Baymax in this sweet little macaron feels extra special.

We think this would be a perfect addition to EPCOT, ideally in the Japan Pavilion. It would blend in with the aesthetic and the movie’s theme and be a sweet nod to the former Baymax and Hiro meet-and-greet that once lived there.

3. Chili Cone Queso

Found at the Cozy Cone Motel in Cars Land, this fun and flavorful snack is a cheesy pastry cone loaded with bacon, mac’ n’ cheese, and chili. It’s handheld comfort food that just hits the spot.

With the recent announcement of a Cars-themed ride coming to Magic Kingdom’s upcoming expansion, we can’t think of a better place to bring this snack stateside. Imagine walking off that new ride and grabbing one of these cones right after—perfection.

2. Original Mint Julep

Disney World has beignets in Port Orleans and even in Magic Kingdom, but the original green mint julep from Disneyland is still missing. Yes, you can get a frozen mint julep lemonade in Florida, but let’s be honest—it’s not the same.

Pro tip: If you’re desperate, the Turf Club Bar and Grill at Saratoga Springs Resort serves an alcohol-infused version of this iconic drink.

1. Cheesy Garlic Pretzel Bread

Disney does pretzels very well, from the giant Pym Test Kitchen versions to the beloved Mickey-shaped classics. But the Cheesy Garlic Pretzel Bread deserves special recognition.

This carb-lovers dream is a pretzel roll stuffed with warm, cheesy garlic spread—and yes, it tastes as good as it sounds. It’s become so beloved that Disney fans have even created next-level snack hacks using this cheesy masterpiece.

It would fit right in at EPCOT, especially during the International Food & Wine Festival. Our pick? The Germany Pavilion where would pair perfectly with a cold beer and the rest of the savory, doughy offerings already available there.

Until Then, We’ll Keep Dreaming—and Snacking

While Disney World has plenty of great food, there’s no denying that some of Disneyland’s snacks feel extra magical.

Whether it’s because of the theming, the exclusivity, or just how good they taste, we’d love to see a few of these West Coast favorites find a second home in Florida.

Who knows—maybe one day, our foodie dreams will come true. Until then, we’ll have to plan a trip to Anaheim for our next snack fix.
