When Money Is No Object – 10 Splurge-Worthy Experiences At Walt Disney World

10. Private Parties at Your Favorite Rides

Unbeknownst to most guests, various locations throughout Disney World’s theme parks and resorts are available for private rentals for small dinner groups. Imagine having a birthday dessert party on the terrace of Tower of Terror!  Prices vary greatly based on the type of package you want (and whether you want the attraction to remain in operation during your party!), but be prepared to spend thousands of dollars all in.

9. Fireworks Viewing from Your Own Yacht

If cruising is more your style, then you can charter Disney’s Grand I Yacht from the Grand Floridian Resort.  Rental fees will set you back more than $400 per hour, and that’s not including any other services you may want.  A variety of times and packages are available, including sunset and fireworks cruises (could there be a better way to experience Happily Ever After than sipping champagne on a private yacht in the Seven Seas Lagoon)?

8. Exclusive Photo Shoot

There are various private mini-portrait sessions available through Disney Fine Art Photography at different locations throughout the resorts and parks.  But the most extravagant package is the Magic Kingdom Family Portrait, which starts at $1700, and gets you exclusive access to the Magic Kingdom before it opens.  Your hour-long session with one of Disney’s photographers takes place at 5 magical locations, and can include up to 10 guests.

7. Dine With an Imagineer

One of the most coveted experiences in Disney World, this dining experience gets you face to face with an actual Disney Imagineer as you chat over a meal. There’s no better way to have all of your Disney questions answered, first-hand!  Spots are limited, and go for approximately $75 per person.

6. Backstage Tours

This is a wish-list item for any Disney fan! Disney World offers an extensive 7-hour long backstage tour that takes you through all 4 parks, revealing locations usually only seen by cast members.  If you’ve ever wanted to know how animatronics are created, or explore the secret underground tunnel system under Magic Kingdom, this is the experience for you!  Pricing is approximately $275 per person.

5. Swim With Nemo and Friends

Yes, it’s true, you can actually swim with thousands of sea creatures at Epcot’s The Seas with Nemo & Friends.  You can choose between a snorkelling experience and a DiveQuest experience, so even if you’re not SCUBA-certified, there’s still an adventure for you.  You’ll also enjoy a private tour behind the scenes.

4. Princess Pampering

The perfect treat for little princesses, Disney’s “Perfectly Princess Tea Party” in the Grand Floridian involves a tea service and a visit from a Disney princess.  Extras include a “My Disney Girl” Princess Aurora doll for each child.  Cost is approximately $175 for young guests, and almost $100 for adults.

3. Personalized Chef Experience

There’s no better splurge-worthy dining experience on Disney property than the personalized 10-course gourmet meal offered at the award-winning Victoria & Albert’s.  This exclusive (only one party is served each evening) experience is for 2-10 people, and allows you to talk with the chef and staff as they prepare an unforgettable meal catered specifically to your tastes.  Personalized wine pairings are also available, and valet parking is included.  Cost per person begins at $250.

2. Wild Africa Trek

Coming in at between $189 and $249, depending on the season, is the Wild Africa Trek.  This 3-hour safari experience at Animal Kingdom allows you to get much closer to all your favorite African animals than you could as an average guest – and the cost includes having a Disney photographer snap unforgettable moments for you.  There’s also a free gift and gourmet snacks along the way.

1. Ultimate Diva Park Experience

For the ultimate Disney parks experience, look no further than a Private Premium VIP tour.  You’ll be picked up and escorted around the parks by a private tour guide, who will help you skip all ride lines and access premium seating for shows and parades.  The cost of this magical day?  Pricing starts at $360 per hour, and there’s a 6 hour minimum.  But you can bring up to 9 guests to enjoy your VIP diva day with you!

About Jason Dick

Jason is a Disney addict. Walt Disney World trips are an annual occurrence that his partner has had to come to terms with. In between Disney trips, he spends his time running the theatre company he started in 2007. As Artistic Director, he picks musicals to bring to his hometown of Hamilton, Ontario Canada that have never been produced in the area. Traveling is definitely a passion and in addition to his trips to the happiest place on earth, he and his partner also travel the world, most recently to India and Nepal. A carnivore by nature, Jason loves the incredible amount of steakhouses Walt Disney World has to offer - they are always at the top of his list for each and every visit.
