Disney’s EPCOT is going through a major transformation right now and we are so excited to see all that is going to emerge from this transformation. Take a look at what you need to know about EPCOT in 2021.
1. The Rides!
EPCOT is going to be the place to be in 2021 when it comes to new and exciting rides. The first ride that will be opening in 2021 is Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. This ride was supposed to open in 2020; however, we are now anxiously awaiting October 1, 2021 when this attraction is scheduled to open. This ride, that you can find back in the France Pavilion, shrieks guests to the size of Remy as they race through the kitchen trying to stay out of harm’s way. Although we already know what this ride will be like, since it is coming to the US park from Europe, we are super excited to experience it in person and not through YouTube. The other major attraction coming to EPCOT is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This new ride will be the first to launch guests backwards and have an advanced ride vehicle that rotates guests to face the direction of the action. Based on the video coverage we have seen this new ride is going to be thrilling! Take note however, there are signs that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind may not open in time for 2021 as we previously shared here.
2. FOOD!!!
One thing that EPCOT has always been known for is food. With all the different pavilions, guests can get a variety of unique and delicious foods and 2021 will only be bringing more to choose from. In the France Pavilion, guests will be able to enjoy sweet and savory crepes at the new La CrĂŞperie de Paris. This new dining option will offer both a quick service and a table service option for guests and a menu from celebrity chef Jerome Bocuse. Space 220 will also be coming to EPCOT in 2021. Here guests will be able to embark on an adventure where they dine in a space station-like atmosphere where they can see amazing daytime and nighttime views of the Earth from 220 miles up. We are still waiting on more information regarding the menu here, but we are sure it will be out of this world.

3. Harmonious
In September of 2019 Illuminations made its final show as EPCOT transitioned towards the new nighttime spectacular of Harmonious. Even though we saw a temporary show in EPCOT Forever, we are anxiously waiting for Harmonious to start. We have started to see the fountains added showing us that they are definitely moving forward with this production even as night time shows are currently on pause. Disney has said that this new show will be like nothing we have seen before and we can’t wait.
4. New Entertainment
Disney previously announced a variety of updates coming to the World Showcase and we have already seen the update to Canada’s film as well as the addition of Beauty and the Beast Sing-along to the France Pavilion. Still in the works for 2021 is Wondrous China. We look forward to having this film updated and seeing how they improve the 360-degree film. It was recently announced that DuckTales the show was canceled, but as of right now Disney is still saying that the DuckTales World Showcase Adventure would continue. This would-be taking place of Agent P but have the same concept as guests would travel throughout the World Showcase searching for clues. Although we aren’t 100% sure if this will continue to come, we are hopeful as we loved Agent P and the interactive option it brought for kids and look forward to it doing the same.
5. New Overall Theme
EPCOT has always been separated into two areas of World Showcase and then Future World. In 2019, Disney announced that this would be changing into neighborhoods. We were told that there would be World Showcase, World Discovery, World Celebration and World of Nature as the four new neighborhoods. Since reopening, it seems like this process is continuing and moving forward. We have already seen the revealing of the new front of the park featuring a beautiful fountain as well as three acrylic pylons featuring the park’s logo. New artwork showed the statue of Walt himself that will be present in Dreamers Point. We are extremely excited to see how these new neighborhoods come to life.
2021 has been an amazing year at EPCOT thus far… and as new rides and delicious food come to the park we’re excited more is to come. We can’t wait to experience all of these magical opportunities during our visits in 2021.
