Half Marathon Weekend Means Delays for Opening

As the race weekend begins, runners of all ages are gearing up to write their own fairy tale of determination, courage, and triumph at the Run Disney Princess Half Marathon, where every mile is a magical memory in the making. This event is drawing in thousands of eager runners who are looking to accomplish the Half Marathon at the beautiful Walt Disney World Resort.

On Sunday, February 25, the main Half Marathon event will take place beginning at 5:00 am. Even with this early start, the park will need an extra hour to prepare for the opening of one theme park. EPCOT, one of Walt Disney World Resort’s magical and epic theme parks, will delay its opening on Sunday in light of the event.

Updated Schedule for This Weekend

If you are planning on spending your Sunday at EPCOT, there is some important information that you should know. The Park, which typically opens at 9:00 a.m., will be delayed an hour and open instead at 10:00 a.m. Early entry will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Every RunDisney weekend is full of so much emotion and magic, and this one is looking to be especially amazing. The resort is expected to be very busy, so if you are hoping to attend this weekend, we recommend getting there early and making your Genie+ purchase as early as possible.
