Walt Disney World Resort to Update Housekeeping Policies in a Magical Way

Disney Parks has revealed an exciting update regarding housekeeping services across its Walt Disney World Resort Hotels, beloved by Guests for their extra touch of Disney magic.

The Walt Disney World Resort’s hotels prioritize both Guest satisfaction and immersion, offering a one-of-a-kind experience you won’t find anywhere else off-property. In fact, many of the Disney World Hotels have so many additional entertainment, dining, and service options that staying on-property is like an extension of your Walt Disney Vacation!

However, this experience often comes down to the smallest details, such as Disney Cast Member performance to add that extra bit of magic to a stay, something which the Covid-19 pandemic compromised three years ago along with many other fan-favorite theme park experiences.

Now, Disney can finally begin reinstating some of these missing pieces. For example, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn recently received newly refurbished rooms and updated dining resources like Carousel Coffee, and Disney World Guests were elated when CEO Bob Iger announced the return of complimentary Resort parking.

Soon, Disney will revive another beloved element of the Disney Resort Hotel stay: full daily housekeeping services. Of course, these full cleanings included the expected replenishment of towels and amenities, making the bed, tidying the bathroom, trash management, and vacuuming, but they also had something special. For instance, many delighted Guests in the past reported they would return to a room and find their “Mickey ear hat on display” or that the housekeeping Cast had posed their plush toys in a fun and interesting way.

Indeed, Amy A., a panelist for planDisney, experienced this element of magic herself, telling the Disney Parks Blog:

They go out of their way to make us smile when we return to our room after a busy theme park day. Setting up my son’s stuffed animal with funny sunglasses, tidying up my hair appliance cords, or creating a hidden Mickey in a supply restock — they connect with us and show they care for us, even when we don’t see them.

Furthermore, the Cast Members at work enjoy these intimate moments too and are happy to hear they will finally be able to continue making magic while providing clean rooms to Disney World Guests. For instance, Duckky, one of the housekeepers at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort, said “those special little touches” are “what it’s about.”

Duckky continued, “If I can make somebody smile every day just by walking past and saying ‘have a magical day,’ that warms my heart. Everything I do here warms my heart.” Thankfully, these heartwarming touches are here to stay on your next stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel!
