Walt Disney World Resort is made up of four different Parks: Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT.
Between all four Disney Parks, there’s no doubt about Magic Kingdom being the most popular, and for a good reason!
Magic Kingdom is home to many classic Walt Disney World attractions, such as “it’s a small world,” Peter Pan’s Flight, Space Mountain, and the Haunted Mansion.
However, the Haunted Mansion in Liberty Square has abruptly shut down today, and we’re not entirely sure why.
The Haunted Mansion debuted on Walt Disney World’s opening day: October 1, 1971. But at the time of this article’s publication, the attraction is currently closed.
On the Walt Disney World mobile app, Guests can track wait times and even check the status of attractions. Here, we can see that the Haunted Mansion is listed as “Temporarily Closed.”
Although the attraction is closed right now, there’s no need to panic.
Because the Haunted Mansion is an opening day attraction, the dark ride has been operating nonstop for over 50 years! That’s more than enough time to cause general wear and tear and develop technical issues.
It’s not uncommon for the attraction to go down for some time due to technical difficulties, and the attraction usually reopens relatively quickly.
Considering that the closure is only reflected on the mobile Walt Disney World app and not on the official website, it’s safe to say that the Haunted Mansion will be up and running again soon enough.
So fret not, fans of this spooky attraction! We’re sure the 999 Happy Haunts and hitchiking ghosts will be back and better than ever before you know it.
