Disneyland Resort President Shares Exciting News

In an exciting development for Disney enthusiasts, Ken Potrock, President of Disneyland Resort, has confirmed that many of the anticipated announcements at the D23 expo’s Disney Experience Showcase on August 10 will focus on Disneyland Resort. Potrock’s remarks have heightened anticipation for the event, which is held at the Anaheim Convention Center, suggesting significant updates and future plans for the iconic theme park.

Speaking to reporters at today’s D23 Day in Disneyland Resort, Potrock expressed strong confidence that Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products, will unveil key details regarding Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park during the D23 event this weekend. He revealed:

The Disneyland Resort is about as excited as we can be about many of the announcements that are going to happen this weekend. In particular, when Josh presents on Saturday talking about the experiences, all the new things. I feel very confident that a big swath of those are going to be about the Disneyland Resort.”

What About Walt Disney World?

The Disney Experiences Showcase, a highly anticipated event in the Disney calendar, is set to provide a comprehensive look at the latest developments across Disney’s parks and resorts.

With Potrock’s confirmation, all eyes will be on Disneyland Resort as fans and industry insiders alike await news on new attractions, expansions, and enhancements. Disneyland fans hope that this weekend will highlight more about DisneylandForward, a significant initiative aimed at the future growth and evolution of Disneyland Resort.

While these announcements are very exciting, Walt Disney World Resort fans can’t help but feel stressed that their home resort may end up being left out of the major announcements. In the past, many Disney fans have felt that The Walt Disney Company unfairly prefers Disneyland Resort over its Florida success.

Overall, the announcement of these developments aligns with Disney’s broader strategy to enhance its theme parks and deliver fresh, immersive experiences to its guests.

The showcase on August 10 is poised to reveal how Disneyland Resort will continue to evolve and expand, building on its rich legacy of entertainment and innovation. Whether or not Walt Disney World Resort will be included in a major way is yet to be determined.

As the event approaches, excitement is building among Disney fans and park-goers eager to learn more about what’s next for Disneyland Resort. With Potrock’s assurance of major announcements, the Disney Experiences Showcase promises to be a landmark occasion, setting the stage for a new chapter in the storied history of Disneyland Resort.
