Universal Orlando Resort Engulfed as Weather Conditions Worsen for Guests

Universal Orlando Resort was hit by heavy rain and severe storms today, causing significant disruptions across the park and affecting thousands of visitors. The storm, which rolled into the area in the late morning, brought intense rainfall, strong winds, and lightning, leading to a challenging day for both guests and staff.

This news comes as a huge upset for Orlando visitors who have not been able to soak up the sunshine in some time. Unfortunately, the rain is far from over in this area, and guests should be prepared.

Rain Storms Strike Universal Orlando Resort, Impacting Guests and Operations

The heavy rain began abruptly, quickly inundating the resort with water. Guests were seen taking shelter in various indoor attractions, restaurants, and retail locations as the storm intensified. The adverse weather conditions caused several outdoor attractions and rides to temporarily close for safety reasons, including popular rides such as the Jurassic Park River Adventure and the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.

In response to the inclement weather, Universal Orlando Resort’s team acted swiftly to ensure guest safety. Staff members were stationed throughout the park to assist visitors and provide updates on ride closures and weather conditions. The resort also implemented its weather safety protocols, which include evacuating outdoor areas and monitoring conditions to ensure a safe environment for all.

30 minutes before this was taken, I was in front of that kiosk, Britney mic on , warning everyone about incoming inclement weather and outdoor attraction closures.  At this point, I was getting SOAKED, trying not to fly away with my umbrella, walking to my car.

Unrelenting Rain Puts a Damper on Vacations

For guests who have spent their hard earned money on their vacations to the Orlando, Flroida, theme parks like SeaWorld, Walt Disney World, and Universal Orlando Resorts, this rain can put a huge damper on things. However, storms of this nature are a common sight every summertime.

It has also been reported that the Orlando Airport (MCO) has faced potential delays due to the storms. Guests are advised to check the Universal Orlando Resort website or mobile app for the latest updates on attraction status and park conditions. Visitors should also stay aware of the local weather.

A weather forecast shows a current temperature of 77°F with mostly cloudy skies for Wednesday at 7:00 PM. Thursday through Tuesday have predictions of thunderstorms and showers, with temperatures ranging from the mid-70s to high 80s. Humidity is at 89%.

As the storm has now passed, the park is gradually resuming its regular operations. Unfortunately, it looks like storms are set to commence for the remainder of the week. Universal Orlando Resort remains committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors, even in the face of challenging weather conditions.
