Universal Orlando is preparing for another permanent change, and this time, visitors won’t have to wait weeks or months for it to happen.
The resort has spent years transforming its theme parks, replacing older attractions with new experiences designed to attract modern audiences.

However, those changes have also meant losing several longtime favorites that generations of guests remember.
Now, another attraction that dates back to Universal Studios Florida’s earliest days is reaching the end of its run.
And unlike some previous closures, Universal hasn’t revealed what comes next.
A Longtime Universal Studios Florida Experience Is Ending
Monday, November 2, 2026, marks the final operating day for Animal Actors on Location! at Universal Studios Florida.
The attraction will permanently close beginning Tuesday, November 3, ending a history that stretches back to the park’s opening in 1990.
Animal Actors has entertained visitors for more than three decades with performances featuring trained animals demonstrating skills used in the entertainment industry.
Dogs, cats, birds, and other animals appeared throughout the show, performing tricks and interacting with their trainers.
The attraction also provided something that has become increasingly valuable at busy theme parks: an opportunity to sit down and enjoy entertainment without boarding a ride.

For families traveling with younger children, the show offered a gentler alternative to Universal’s more intense attractions.
Animal Actors also maintained a connection to Universal Studios Florida’s original identity.
When the park opened, many of its attractions focused on taking guests behind the scenes of filmmaking and television production.
The animal performances fit naturally into that concept, showing audiences how trained animals could contribute to entertainment productions.
Although the attraction changed names over the years, its central idea remained familiar.
Universal Has Not Revealed What’s Coming Next
One of the biggest questions surrounding the closure involves the future of the existing theater.
As of November 2, Universal Orlando has not announced a replacement for Animal Actors on Location!.
The company has also not confirmed whether the theater will be reused, demolished, or incorporated into a larger project.
That leaves visitors without a clear answer about what will eventually occupy the space.

Universal has made several significant changes to its original parks in recent years, and additional redevelopment is already underway elsewhere at the resort.
At Islands of Adventure, demolition work continues around portions of the former Lost Continent area following the closure of several classic attractions.
Meanwhile, Universal Studios Florida has already said goodbye to opening-era favorites such as Kongfrontation, Jaws, and Earthquake.
Animal Actors now joins that growing list.
Its departure also leaves E.T. Adventure as the most prominent remaining ride from Universal Studios Florida’s original 1990 lineup.

While newer attractions have helped Universal expand its popularity, losing another longstanding experience may disappoint guests who appreciate the park’s history.
The closure also removes a family-friendly live show from the park’s entertainment offerings.
For now, visitors have one final day to enjoy Animal Actors on Location! before its permanent closure takes effect.
Whether Universal eventually introduces another show or develops an entirely different experience remains unknown.
What is certain is that after 36 years, another chapter of Universal Studios Florida’s history is coming to an end.
