Once a half-day park, Animal Kingdom has now grown into a full-blown Disney park that requires at least a full day to see. In fact, more and more people are opting to spend two entire vacation days in this park just to make sure they see all the amazing things the place has to offer. If you’re one of the lucky Disney-goers who has two vacation days to spare and wants to spend them in Animal Kingdom, you may be wondering how to get the most out of those two days. Here are our top suggestions.
DAY ONE
1. FastPass Recommendations:
Avatar Flight of Passage (Tier 1), Kilimanjaro Safari (Tier 2), and Meet Mickey and Minnie (Tier 2). Remember, once you use your first three FastPasses, you can use your MyDisenyExperience App to select a 4th FastPass and so on until the park closes.
2. Dining Recommendations:
There are so many excellent dining options. For lunch we’d recommend the quick-service restaurant, Satu’li Canteen. Tusker House is a great place for dinner. It is a character dining experience so be prepared with advanced dining reservations.
3. The Plan:
- Your first day will be spent in the Oasis/Discovery Island, Pandora, Africa, and at the nighttime show.
- When you arrive, take the time to see the animals on your way in. Stop to get a Wilderness Explorers book if you like, and keep an eye out for stations throughout the day.
- Head to Pandora, taking the time to see animals and other things along the way. Once in Pandora, use your Avatar Flight of Passage FastPass and take a look around the land. Try to catch the drum show if at all possible. For lunch, dine at the Satu’li Canteen in Pandora, making sure to enjoy some of their more unique menu items.
- After you finish exploring Pandora, head on over to Africa. Here you will use your Safari FastPass and see “Festival of the Lion King”. Make sure to take the time to see the outdoor performers and the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail as well. Once dinner time rolls around, head to Tusker House for a super fun character meal and buffet.
- After dinner, make a point of stopping by to see Mickey and Minnie using your FastPass before heading to the “Rivers of Light” show. Be sure to arrive at the show early, and if you have a choice, see the later show as it tends to be less crowded.

DAY TWO
1. FastPass Recommendations:
We’d recommend your first three advanced FastPasses for Day Two to be Expedition Everest (Tier 2), Dinosaur (Tier 2) and Na’vi River Journey (Tier 1).
2. Dining Recommendations:
Enjoy the table-service restaurant, Yak and Yeti for lunch. Reservations are highly recommended. For dinner, you’ll love the popular quick-service spot, Flame Tree Barbecue.
3. The Plan:
- On your second day you will see DinoLand U.S.A., Asia, more of the Oasis/Discovery Island, and Pandora at night.
- Upon arrival, be sure to head down the opposite side of the Oasis in order to see the animals you missed on your first visit. Again, keep an eye out for Wilderness Explorer Stations throughout the day and stop at any that seem interesting.
- This time, you will head right once you get to Discovery Island in order to end up in Asia. Once in Asia you will use your Expedition Everest FastPass. You will also want to see “Up! A Great Bird Adventure Show” and explore the Maharajah Jungle Trek. At lunchtime, stop in at Yak and Yeti for some seriously yummy food.
- When you are finished checking out Asia, walk over to DinoLand U.S.A. Here you will use your Dinosaur FastPass, but you may also want to check out the Triceratops Spin ride and the Boneyard playground if you have little ones. Slightly older children will likely prefer the Primeval Whirl roller coaster. Last but definitely not least, you absolutely must see “Finding Nemo the Musical”.
- At this point, dinnertime will be well underway. Make your way back to Discovery Island for some yummy grub at Flame Tree Barbecue before heading on around to Pandora to check out the amazing nighttime views there. While in Pandora, be sure to ride Na’vi River Journey.
- After seeing Pandora all lit up, it’ll be time to head out. However, on your way out, you will definitely want to stop and see the Tree of Life Awakenings. This is a super cool projection show and an awesome end to an awesome day.
