Toy Story Land Set for Refreshed Look With Changes to Popular Dining Spot

Since it opened in 2018, Toy Story Land has continued to charm Disney’s Hollywood Studios visitors with its immersive setting and playful theming.

Designed to look like Andy’s backyard from the Toy Story films, this land shrinks you down to the size of a toy and surrounds you with colorful props, beloved characters, and attractions like Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers. But aside from rides, one of the biggest draws has been Woody’s Lunchbox—a quick-service eatery that dishes out breakfast and lunch favorites with a side of nostalgia.

And now, it looks like that fan-favorite location is getting a bit of a makeover.

Woody’s Lunchbox Set for Construction

According to a newly filed permit, Walt Disney Imagineering is preparing to carry out “general construction” at Woody’s Lunchbox. While the description might seem vague, the fact that it’s from Imagineering hints that this won’t be just a coat of paint or a basic fix-up. It’s more likely a series of cosmetic upgrades and operational improvements.

This new filing comes as Toy Story Land has already been seeing some physical changes. A new snack kiosk is currently under construction near the entrance to the land, adding more options and capacity for hungry guests. With crews already onsite, it makes sense for Disney to double down and polish up other areas of the land while they’re at it.

What Might Be Changing?

While Disney hasn’t released specifics, it’s expected that Woody’s Lunchbox won’t undergo anything too dramatic. The restaurant’s theming, menu, and layout are beloved by fans and aren’t likely to be completely reimagined. Instead, guests might notice changes like refreshed paint, seating improvements, and possibly some reconfiguring of the ordering area to improve crowd flow.

Toy Story Land has often been noted for its lack of shade and limited dining capacity, especially at peak times. Woody’s Lunchbox is charming, but it can also become cramped during the lunch rush. This update could help address some of those concerns.

No Closures (Yet)

At this time, Woody’s Lunchbox remains open and operating as usual. Disney hasn’t announced any closures related to the permit, which suggests the work may be phased in quietly or completed after hours. However, guests might see temporary walls or rerouted paths near the dining location as updates roll out.

For those planning trips in the coming weeks, it’s worth keeping an eye out for any changes to seating or availability at Woody’s Lunchbox. Even minor tweaks could have a big impact on how smoothly the experience runs—especially in a land that often sees some of the longest wait times in the park.

Toy Story Land’s Growth Continues

This isn’t the first update for Toy Story Land. The addition of Roundup Rodeo BBQ gave the area a much-needed indoor dining location. Now, with another snack kiosk on the way and Woody’s Lunchbox receiving attention, it’s clear that Disney is refining the guest experience even further.

These improvements may be small in scale, but they’re a sign that Disney is listening to feedback and continuing to fine-tune one of its most popular lands.
