Top Two Restaurants In Each Walt Disney World Park

Delicious food is all part of a magical Disney vacation. Even though some dining options remain closed, there are still numerous options in each of the four parks that offer excellent options.  Some of these are table service options that will require dining reservations where others are quick service where you can mobile order from throughout your vacation.  These are our top two restaurants at each of the four Walt Disney World parks to help you with your dining choices.

Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom has some of the best food in Walt Disney World.  This was probably one of the harder parks to narrow it down to two options.  For this park, we are going to offer up two quick service choices as the best.

The first option is Flame Tree Barbecue which is found in Discovery Island.  Here guests can choose from a variety of hearty barbecue dishes.  The ribs and chicken combo is an excellent choice if you are wanting to share.  Looking for a smaller portion?  Consider the baked macaroni & cheese or the amazing French fries with pulled pork.  Mobile order from here early to make sure you get the time you prefer, then snag a spot by the water to see some characters float on by.

Flame Tree

Satu’li Canteen is our other top choice in Animal Kingdom.  Located in Pandora, this dining location offers fresh bowls that are a unique and flavorful choice.  Guests can choose from protein such as chicken, beef, shrimp or tofu.  From there, a base and sauce can be added.  This is a great way to make a meal feel fresh and slightly healthy.  Our favorite item here though is the fun cheeseburger pods.  These small pods are filled with cheeseburger awesomeness.  We are glad that they are back on the menu!

Both of these dining locations are extremely popular so if you are wanting to eat at one of them, make sure you get on mobile order early on in the day to secure your spot.  No one wants to be hangry.

Epcot

Epcot is known for outstanding dining experiences.  In the World Showcase, guests can experience food from around the world in both quick dining locations as well as fine dining.   There is so much to choose from, you can really find something for everyone here.  Some of the fine dining options remain closed currently, but two favorites remain open and highly recommended.

Garden Grill Restaurant is located in The Land Pavilion.  This restaurant is known for the rotating dining room that allows guests to see scenes from Living with the Land below.  Not only do guests have that entertainment, but this is one of the few restaurants that offer a character experience.  Here Chip n’ Dale as well as Mickey and Pluto interact with guests from a distance while they enjoy their meal.  One of the reasons we like this option is that it is a family style meal meaning food is brought to the table.  The feast, as it is called, includes a salad, turkey, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, stuffing and then a berry shortcake for dessert.  This is a hearty meal that is a perfect way to see some characters right now while relaxing and eating a meal.

Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue is one of the newer dining locations in Epcot.  This quick service option is located in the American Pavilion and has all the good barbecue you could want.  From ribs, brisket and burgers, Regal Eagle Smokehouse provides an outstanding dining option.  Not only are the main dishes heavenly, but the sides are fantastic as well.  Make sure to get your mobile order in early here too so you are able to get your choice of times.

Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios has always been given a bad name when it comes to dining; however, lately they have been stepping up their game.

Over in Batuu, guests can enjoy a good meal morning or night at Ronto RoastersRonto Roasters is known for their famous ronto wraps that guests can enjoy anytime during the day.  In the morning hours, the wrap includes egg, grilled pork sausage, shredded cheddar and peppercorn sauces in a pita bread.  For lunch and dinner, the ronto wrap has roasted pork, grilled pork sausage, peppercorn sauce and tangy slaw wrapped in the pita bread.  Ronto Roasters gets extremely busy in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge so make sure to get that mobile ordering in ASAP.

If you are looking for a way to get out of the crowds, consider dining at 50’s Prime Time for some fun.  Located around Echo Lake, 50’s Prime Time is a classic 50’s diner where you are reminded to eat your veggies, get off your phone and keep those elbows off the table.  Make sure you start with the peanut butter and jelly milkshake as you won’t be sorry.  Then choose from a variety of good, homestyle meals such as fried chicken, meatloaf and pot pies.  If you aren’t full, you can finish off with an amazing apple crisp.  50’s Prime Time takes reservations so if this a location that should like your place, make sure to make those 60 days ahead of your trip.

Magic Kingdom

Finally, we have the most iconic park Magic Kingdom.  Although many might think of Be Our Guests and Cinderella’s Royal Table, these two with their high price tags and limited menu and entertainment have moved themselves out of our top two list currently.  That might change in the future, but for now we have some other suggestions.

Sleepy Hollow is one of our all-time favorite dining locations in all of Walt Disney World.  This tiny little spot offers a big punch with its food offerings.  In the morning you can start off with the amazing fresh fruit waffle that includes chocolate-hazelnut spread.  This waffle is big enough to share and provides fruit- obviously making it a healthy choice.  Sleepy Hollow is also the location that provides Mickey waffles so if those iconic eats are a must for you this is your spot.  In the afternoons, you can get a sweet-and-spicy chicken waffle sandwich, hand-dipped corn dog and a funnel cake.  We know that this menu is very limited; however, the items they offer do not disappoint.  The one downfall here is that Sleepy Hollow doesn’t offer mobile ordering making it a longer line during meal times.

Surprisingly we are going to go with Crystal Palace as our second option.  This iconic dining location at the end of Main Street opened recently and we have been impressed with the new offerings.  Although Winnie the Pooh and friends are currently NOT visiting, the new family-style biscuits and salad and entree options are fantastic.  The brown sugar-glazed bone-in pork chop and prime rib have both brought rave reviews from guests.  You can make reservations at the Crystal Palace and even use the new walk-up feature in the My Disney Experience app to see if you can snag a last-minute spot.

Having a good meal is all a part of the Walt Disney World vacation experience.  There are so many excellent options in all four parks that truly offer options for everyone.  We hope this list of our current (things are always changing in Disney) favorite at each park is helpful to your planning.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
