With more than 25 resort hotels to choose from on Walt Disney World property alone, picking your home base for your next Disney vacation isn’t easy. There are many factors to consider; price, proximity to your favorite park, theming, amenities and dining are just a few of them. With so many options available, it’s easy to overlook gems that might be perfect for your family. If Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort isn’t on your radar for your next Disney trip, it should be! Here are just a few reasons we know you’ll love staying here.
1. Location
As anyone who has bought or sold a house will tell you, location is everything. And it’s no different when you’re planning a vacation. Luckily, Walt Disney World’s Swan and Dolphin Resort has it made when it comes to location. It’s situated between Disney’s Epcot and Hollywood Studios on Crescent Lake, and you can actually walk to both theme parks from the resort. But if those extra steps are too much after a long day in the parks, you can opt for the water taxi that runs between both parks and the resort. Of course, you can always use Disney’s complimentary bus system, which will take you to all theme parks and Disney Springs.
2. Value
Although it’s on Disney property, the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort is not actually run by Disney – it’s a Westin resort. So while you won’t see blatant Disney theming like at some other resorts, you will enjoy a room and amenities that are in line with Disney deluxe resorts, for a price that’s comparable to what you’ll pay at a moderate Disney resort. That’s a budget win in our books!
3. Dining
Since it’s in close proximity to Disney’s BoardWalk complex, not to mention Epcot and Hollywood Studios, you’re spoiled for dining options around the Swan & Dolphin Resort. But you don’t even need to leave the resort itself to experience delicious dining diversity. There are a whopping 17 lounges and restaurants at the resort, from casual and poolside dining, to fine dining establishments, where you’ll find everything from familiar favorites to exciting global dishes. All in all, guests staying at Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort can choose from about 40 fabulous eateries, and that’s just options within walking distance!

4. Theming
Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin experienced an extensive renovation a few years ago. To say the resort is a work of art would not be an overstatement. You’ll initially be struck by its massive dolphin and swan statues, 56 and 47 feet tall, respectively, which weight an incredible 60,000 pounds each. Inside, the lobbies are expansive and grand, featuring details like 20-foot-tall crystal chandeliers, awe-inspiring geometric ceilings, and stunningly regal fountains. There’s also a new contemporary art collection to admire. And that’s before you even set foot in your room. If you want to feel like a VIP while you’re at WDW, you’re in the right place!
5. Spa
What better way to pamper yourself on vacation than a soothing spa day? Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort’s Mandara Spa offers 10,500 square feet of relaxation in a stunning environment themed as a Balinese temple, meditation garden, and tea garden. You’ll feel like you’re miles away from the cares of daily life as you indulge in a wrap, facial, massage or a variety of salon services.
6. Pool
When you vacation in Walt Disney World, it’s important to have a pool where you can seek respite from the hot Orlando sun. At the Swan & Dolphin Resort, you’ll have your pick of five pools within a huge pool complex that features peaceful areas for relaxation and fun-filled spots where guests can enjoy music and entertainment. There’s a kiddie pool and play area, complete with sand and water sprinkler; you’ll also find two lap pools, and a gorgeous grotto pool. You can also escape from the heat by exploring the resort’s waterfalls, fountains and whirlpools, or cruise around Crescent Lake on a swan paddle boat.
7. Discounts
Staying at Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin allows you to benefit from special discounts you might not be entitled to at other resorts on property. Watch for specials and packages offered by the resort from time to time, and make sure you apply for a Dining Passport card so you can rack up loyalty points when you eat at select Swan and Dolphin restaurants. The points are stored on your Dining Passport, and you can redeem them for dining experiences and gift certificates.
