Top 8 Reasons I’d Rather Be at Disney

It’s hard to come up with only a few reasons why I’d rather be at Disney mainly due to the fact that any day that life gets a little hard, overwhelming or annoying has me repeating the mantra, “I’d so rather be at Disney.” Disney is my escape from reality so I can list about 1 million reasons I’d rather be at Disney, but let’s focus on just the most exciting reasons!

#8 “Just whistle while you work!” Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs

A wonderful reason to be at Disney World is because of the fabulous cast members that go above and beyond to make your stay the best it can be! After dealing with many horrible customer service agents and some people who are just plain nasty, it is always a breath of fresh air to be treated in such a nice way and to see people who genuinely want me to have more fun! Last time we were at Disney celebrating our 10 year anniversary, we received complimentary desserts, heartfelt wishes and special magic. Even without a celebration, cast members make you feel like you are worth celebrating!

#7 “Venture outside your comfort zone. The rewards are worth it!” Tangled

There are experiences that Disney has in store for you that are sometimes outside of your comfort zone, but like Rapunzel says, it is worth it! I am not a very adventurous eater, but I have dallied outside of my comfort zone and have found some wonderful favorites! I am also not much a thrill ride enthusiast, but boy am I glad that my husband dragged me on the Rock N Roller Coaster! Sometimes, the best part of going to Disney World is experiencing that new the new things that you have been waiting your whole life to try!

#6 “You’re never too old to be young.” Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs

There are so many responsibilities in life that make me feel so adult. I have bills, work, meetings, cleaning projects and so many things I do day to day that I’d rather just not do! So, when I go to Disney, I feel like a kid again! No cleaning my own room! My magic band has my meal plan and credit card loaded on it, so I don’t even have to feel like I am really paying bills (that’s something I’ll deal with when I go back to being an adult.) So, for a few magical days, I get to ride rides and play with my family. Oh, to be young again!

#5 “ Everybody’s got a laughin’ place, A laughin’ place, to go ho-ho!” Song of the South

When the going gets tough, sometimes I close my eyes and imagine my “happy place.” You know, the once place where you are just relaxed, happy and content? For some, it’s the beach or cabin in the wilderness, for me…it is Disney World. So, it stands to reason that any day, every day, I’d rather be at Disney. However, I know it’s not a reality to be at Disney every day, so while I’m not there I close my eyes and imagine I am!

#4 “Just keep swimming” Finding Nemo

Some of the most beautiful and well maintained pools are in the Disney World resorts. We plan a full day at the pool during our trips where we just enjoy swimming and playing. And the 2 water parks are fun for everyone in the family! Florida is often so hot that it is appropriate to swim about 360 days a year (365 for those of you from the North Pole!) so, when it is grey out and I can’t get into a pool, I think to myself, I’d rather be at Disney!

#3 “You’re Mad! Bonkers! Off the Wall! But, I’ll tell you a secret…all of the best people are!” Alice in Wonderland

It’s not entirely appropriate to wear face paint, Mickey ears, skip down the street all the while eating your cotton candy, but at Disney World it is! We look forward to pin trading, collecting a new vinylmations, and participating in all of the fun! Sing alongs, Broadway style shows, rides, eating things we should not…ok, can I go to Disney World now?

#2 “Ohana means family” Lilo and Stitch

I remember my family vacations from when I was younger. It was so much fun to spend time with the ones I love the most. As I have grown up, my family has spread out all over Florida, and my little sister lives in Michigan. Now, family vacations consist of just the two of us. Last year, we rented a treehouse villa and my entire family came together. It was one of the best vacations of my life! So, when I miss my family, I think, I’d rather WE ALL be at Disney!

#1 “Today’s special moments are tomorrow’s memories.” The Return of Jafar

My Mom always told me that vacations are essential for feeling happy and connecting with loved ones. Today, I will work more hours than I am scheduled, do less than I want and will probably fall asleep quicker than most. Life can be monotonous and you may find yourself wishing you were having some more fun. But, think about the last time you were able to let it go, have some fun and truly create moments that you will remember for a lifetime. Was it at Disney World? For me it was, so I’ll say it one more time…I’d rather be at Disney World!
