8. Japan Pearls – Mitsukoshi store, Epcot World Showcase

This section is a modern-day version of the old pearl-diving where cast members actually had to dive down in the water to choose an oyster and bring it back up to you.  You now get to choose your own oyster that is then opened by a very pleasant cast member who cleans it, shows it to you, and explains what type, color, and size of pearl you have found. You can then choose to take the pearl as it is put into a small bag, or choose to have your pearl(s) mounted on jewelry findings. When you wear your pearls you will remember how much fun you had at Disney World choosing your oyster and the surprise of seeing a special pearl. About Cassie

Cassie L. I am a lifelong Disney fan. I attended Walt Disney World in 1971, and was there during the opening week of EPCOT, and have visited the Disney Parks for than 30 times. I have had the privilege of visiting Disneyland as a child, and then again with my children. My family recently moved from the northeastern United States to the Walt Disney World area. I now have cast members in my family and enjoy hearing the magical stories at the end of a shift. I love visiting all of the parks and getting to try more Disney food and being able to share it with you to help you plan your own magical day at Disney.
