Disneyland’s Pixie Hollow meet-and-greet area continues to operate, but the latest calendar update suggests the recent disruption is far from a short-term fix.
The pattern is not without precedent. Pixie Hollow underwent a nine-month closure spanning 2024 into 2025, during which Disney repurposed a secondary meet-and-greet space, formerly dedicated to Tinker Bell’s fairy companions, into an expanded queue for the primary character encounter. Those secondary character interactions were never reinstated. Viewed alongside the current stretch of intermittent closures and reduced operating days, the situation increasingly resembles an incremental, multi-year reconfiguration of the space rather than an isolated maintenance project, one that Disney has yet to publicly contextualize at any stage.
Prospective visitors for September should treat a Tinker Bell encounter as speculative rather than guaranteed when planning a visit. The most dependable method for confirming same-day availability remains the Disneyland Resort app, supplemented by inquiries with Fantasyland character attendants, as Disney has neither published a stable operating schedule nor indicated whether Tinker Bell will be relocated temporarily while Pixie Hollow’s status remains unresolved this September.
The resort’s most recent calendar revision extends listed operations through September 23, yet Pixie Hollow is absent from the schedule beginning September 6, with no listed hours anywhere within that window. This extends the period of unresolved status considerably beyond September 18, which had previously represented the calendar’s outer boundary.
The closure set for September 6 follows a reopening period that itself proved short-lived. Pixie Hollow resumed operations on August 7 after a closure that began on August 4, though the space did not return to its previous seven-day operating cadence. Disney has instead maintained closures every Tuesday and Thursday through the remainder of August and into September, materially reducing guest opportunities to meet the character relative to prior operating norms. On days when the attraction does operate within this window, hours remain consistent with historical patterns: 8:15 a.m. to 10:20 a.m., followed by 11:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The sequence originated on July 27, when Disneyland Resort’s website was updated to reflect a refurbishment closure for Pixie Hollow effective August 4. Prior to that update, the attraction had maintained standard daily operating hours without interruption. Disney has not issued a public explanation at any point in this timeline, not at the closure’s initial listing, not during the abbreviated reopening, not through the subsequent Tuesday and Thursday closures, and not with the calendar’s extension to September 23, which continues to omit the space starting September 6.
For guests with September travel plans who consider a Tinker Bell meet-and-greet a priority, current information does not support building an itinerary around it. The absence of Pixie Hollow from the calendar through September 23 leaves no confirmed date guests can plan against. Checking the Disneyland Resort app close to arrival, and maintaining a contingency plan for the Fantasyland portion of the itinerary, remains the most practical approach until Disney provides further clarity.
