The first sign of disruption came on July 27, when Disneyland Resort updated the official website for the Pixie Hollow meet-and-greet space to reflect a refurbishment closure beginning August 4. Prior to that date, the attraction had operated on a consistent daily schedule of 8:15 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The resort’s published operational calendar at that point extended to September 7 without listing a return date, and no closure rationale accompanied the update.
Timeline: A Reopening With Reduced Availability
Pixie Hollow resumed operations on August 7 following the closure that began on August 4. The reopening, however, did not reflect a return to prior operating norms. Instead, for the remainder of August and into September, the area is closed every Tuesday and Thursday, a pattern that leaves guests with fewer opportunities to meet Tinker Bell than the space’s original seven-day schedule allowed.
On operating days, Tinker Bell’s meet-and-greet hours remain unchanged at 8:15 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The published schedule additionally shows a further closure beginning Sunday, September 6, with no subsequent reopening date listed. The official Disneyland calendar extends only through September 18, and no operating hours appear for any date within that window. Disney has not issued a statement addressing the original closure, the reduced weekly schedule, or the upcoming shutdown.
Context: A Longer Pattern of Closures
The current disruption is not an isolated event. Pixie Hollow previously underwent a nine-month closure spanning 2024 into 2025 tied to a reimagining project. That work repurposed a secondary meet-and-greet area, formerly used for several of Tinker Bell’s fairy companions, into extended queue space for the primary Tinker Bell line. Those additional fairy characters have not returned to meet guests at Pixie Hollow since the conversion.
Taken together, the closures, partial operating schedules, and the unreturned secondary meet-and-greet space point to an extended period of transition at Pixie Hollow stretching close to two years, even as the core Tinker Bell encounter has continued to draw the bulk of guest interest.
