Disneyland Just Closed Three of Its Most Popular Quick-Service Dining Locations
Guests heading to Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park on Thursday arrived to find more than half of the Cozy Cone Motel’s iconic dining stands shuttered. Strangely, Disneyland Resort’s official website doesn’t say a word about any of it.
Three Cones Down in Cars Land
On Thursday, WDWNT reported that three of the five cone-shaped Quick-Service locations at the Cozy Cone Motel in Cars Land were closed for refurbishment, sharing a photo of the Chili Cone Queso stand with its interior shutters pulled down. The closures affect Cozy Cone Motel Three (Chili Cone Queso), which closed on July 8, alongside Cozy Cone Motel One (Churros) and Cozy Cone Motel Four (Frozen Cone-Coctions), both of which went down on July 9. All three are expected to remain closed through July 10.
Disney cast members told WDWNT that the floors inside each Cozy Cone Motel location are being replaced — a straightforward explanation that accounts for the brief refurbishment windows.
The Other Two Cones Are Picking Up the Slack
The closures aren’t leaving Cars Land guests entirely without options. Cozy Cone Motel Two (Ice Cream Cones) and Cozy Cone Motel Five (Popcone) underwent brief refurbishments earlier this week and have since reopened. Both locations are currently serving their standard menus alongside select items from the shuttered cones — including the fan-favorite Bacon Mac & Cheese Cone and the Chili Cone Queso — to help bridge the gap.
An Unusual Silence From Disneyland Resort
What makes this situation slightly unusual isn’t the closures themselves — it’s the lack of any official acknowledgment. Disneyland Resort’s official Cozy Cone Motel webpage makes no mention of the refurbishment and lists none of the five cones as temporarily closed.
The resort typically issues temporary closure notices for dining locations undergoing construction, making the absence of such a notice here a departure from standard practice. Disneyland Resort has not commented publicly on the refurbishment.
