The Ultimate Checklist – 10 Things You Must Do At The Magic Kingdom

The Magic Kingdom offers guests the chance to meet the princesses, blast off into space, become a pirate, and even learn to fly. With so many great things to experience in the Magic Kingdom, it can be hard to decide just what attractions, dining options, and entertainment are must dos and which can be skipped if guests are short on time. Here are the ten things you must do to have an ultimate day in the Magic Kingdom!

10. Enjoy a Mickey Bar

Yes, these delicious treats are available across the Walt Disney World Resort, but to me, there is nothing like enjoying a Mickey Bar with Cinderella Castle in the background.

9. The Haunted Mansion

This eerie attraction is located in Liberty Square and is a Walt Disney World classic. Taking guests into the creepy Gracey Manor, the Haunted Mansion is home to nine hundred and ninety nine happy haunts who are both funny and spooky! Featuring some of the best special effects and characters in the park, the Haunted Mansion is an absolute must do while in the Magic Kingdom!

8. Pirates of the Caribbean

This iconic attraction allows each guest the chance to be a pirate and sail along with some swashbucklers as they terrorize a quaint seaside town. With everything from eerie caves to a raging fire, there is adventure around each turn. In addition, there are some great sight gags and the ever catchy Sherman Brothers song “Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life For Me)”, making a visit to Pirates of the Caribbean a must do.

7. The TTA at Night

The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover (or TTA for short) is a highway in the sky in Tomorrowland that offers guests a bird’s eye view of the attractions and sights of the land. While Tomorrowland is great during the day, at night it truly becomes beautiful as the neon lights turn on and make everything look futuristic. A ride on the TTA at night offers up some of the best views of Tomorrowland and Cinderella Castle while giving guests a few minutes to get off their feet, relax, and enjoy the breeze.

6. Meet Mickey

What’s a visit to the Magic Kingdom without meeting the Mickey? Mickey can be found on Main Street at the Town Square Theater. Be sure to take plenty of pictures and receive an autograph while Mickey is wearing his Magician outfit.

5. Picture in Front of Cinderella Castle

Cinderella Castle is the most iconic building throughout Walt Disney World and it represents all of the magic of a Disney vacation. A must do for guests visiting the Magic Kingdom is to take a picture in front of the beautiful Castle. A great tradition for families and friends to enjoy is to take a photo in the same spot in front of the Castle on each Disney vacation!

4. Conquer the Mountains

The Magic Kingdom is home to its own unique mountain range for those guests who are looking for some thrills. One of the most entertaining ways to explore the park is to conquer all three mountains on an ultimate day! Splash Mountain is located in Frontierland and takes guests on a soaking journey with Br’er Rabbit down to the Briar Patch. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is also located in Frontierland and takes guests on the wildest ride in the wilderness aboard a runaway mine train. The final mountain is Space Mountain located in Tomorrowland which allows guests the chance to blast off into space and go flying past the stars!

3. Fly with Dumbo

A classic must do in the Magic Kingdom is a ride on Dumbo The Flying Elephant in Storybook Circus. Now featuring two different spinners to experience, guests take to the skies with Dumbo and can enjoy beautiful views of Cinderella Castle, Fantasyland, and Storybook Circus while enjoying the breeze.

2. The Jungle Cruise

This attraction takes guests far from Adventureland on an exotic trip down some of the world’s biggest rivers. Guests get to experience elephants, temple ruins, and some amazingly corny jokes from the skippers. Plus, no day in the Magic Kingdom is complete without a ride on the Jungle Cruise to see the backside of water!

1. Fireworks

There is no better way to cap off an ultimate day in the Magic Kingdom than by watching these mesmerizing explosions high in the sky above Cinderella Castle. The fireworks, Happily Ever After, combines favorite Disney characters and songs for a truly unforgettable experience. The best viewing spots can be found all along Main Street, so make sure to get a spot and enjoy the perfect end to a day in the Magic Kingdom!

About Caitlin Kane

Caitlin Kane has been visiting Walt Disney World since she was a child and has developed a deep love and appreciation of the Disney Parks with a particular interest in the small details and history that can be found all around. Visiting every chance she gets, Caitlin loves to enjoy the ambiance of the Disney Parks and try something new every time. She can often be found eating and drinking her way through the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, riding the Haunted Mansion, sipping on a Lapu Lapu, pretending Illuminations: Reflections of Earth was still in existence, and enjoying seeing the magic through the eyes of her children. When not in WDW, Caitlin can be found at home in New York dreaming of a ride on Living with the Land and counting down the days until her next trip.
