Ultimate Checklist – Top Things You Must Do At EPCOT

Epcot offers guests the opportunity to explore space, dive deep into the oceans and hang glide around the globe. With so many fun attractions, dining options, and things to see, a day in Epcot can be jam packed. As with every park, Epcot has some experiences that are must dos and some that can be skipped if you simply do not have time. Here are must-do things to check off for an ultimate day in Epcot!

1. Spaceship Earth

Note: Spaceship Earth is scheduled to close for re-imagining on May 26, 2020. The EPCOT “ball” will remain, but the attraction itself will change along with the re-imagining of EPCOT’s Future World.

No day in Epcot is complete without a ride on its flagship attraction. Spaceship Earth takes guests on a journey through the history of communication from the beginning of time to modern day. Featuring iconic scenes (like Rome burning!), dozens of audio-animatronics, and a narration by Dame Judi Dench, Spaceship Earth is fun for everyone. Guests especially love answering a few questions at the end of the attraction to see an animated skit of their future complete with their images!

2. Soarin’

This attraction located on the bottom level of The Land Pavilion is one of the most popular in Epcot and can easily have wait times close to two hours on busy park days. Soarin’ takes guests to the skies in a hang gliding experience like no other. Guests fly over amazing landscapes around the world! Smells and sights make this ride an easy favorite!

3. Test Track Presented by Chevrolet

Like Soarin’, this attraction is super popular and is a guest favorite. Taking guests into the design world, each visitor is able to create their own simulated vehicle based on efficiency, responsiveness, power, and capability. Guests then get to see how their car rates compared to others while going through a series of obstacles and tests on the attraction. Top it off with an outside joy ride around a massive loop and you can see why Test Track is a must do!

4. The Voices of Liberty

Throughout World Showcase, there are various forms of live entertainment offered in the eleven country pavilions. The Voices of Liberty are an a cappella group that can be found performing in the America Pavilion before each showing of the American Adventure. Donning traditional colonial garb, this group performs classic patriotic songs that always entertain the crowd. They are one of the best live performances in Walt Disney World and can’t be missed.

5. Frozen Ever After

Do your best to snag a FastPass for Frozen Ever After 60 days in advance for Disney Resort guests or 30 days in advance for non-resort guests. This attraction is located in the Norway Pavilion and boasts extremely long wait times in the stand-by line. Save the time… FastPass this one! Frozen Ever After is a family-friendly boat ride that took the place of the former Maelstrom and follows a similar track, winding through multiple experiences up and down the river. It’s a fun attraction with beautiful surroundings, top notch animatronics, and of course… the forever popular Frozen characters and songs to sing along with!

6. The Seas with Nemo and Friends

This pavilion in Future World is home to a massive aquarium where guests can learn all about the ocean and observe its creatures including dolphins and manatees. In addition to checking out the aquarium, guests can ride the pavilion’s attraction that has the same name and visit with the characters from the classic Pixar film Finding Nemo.

7. Living with the Land

This serene attraction is located right next to Soarin’ on the bottom level of The Land Pavilion and teaches guests all about agriculture and how we live in harmony with the land. Featuring a boat ride that passes through massive greenhouses and various environments, guests learn a lot while having fun making this attraction a classic.

8. Travel the World

World Showcase is located in the back half of Epcot and it features eleven different pavilions, each representing a different country. Guests can spend an entire day wandering the likes of Mexico, China, Morocco, France, Japan, and Germany while learning about each culture’s architecture, lifestyle, cuisine, and history. With amazing live performances and unique dining and shopping options in each country, guests will feel as though they have gone on an extravagant world tour all without leaving Epcot!

With all of these great dining options to choose from, dining in World Showcase is a must do on an ultimate day in Epcot.

10. Visit During a Festival

If you really want to see Epcot at its finest, visit during a festival. In late winter Epcot offers the Festival of Arts which hosts beautiful presentations of the arts through paintings to masterful food. The spring season offers the International Flower & Garden Festival. The park comes alive with color, and there are topiaries of your favorite Disney characters. Each fall the International Food & Wine Festival is held. It features dishes and beverages from around the world that you can’t usually find in the park. Epcot also has an early winter festival called the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays. This is perfect time to take in all the holidays from around the world! These festivals include seminars, demonstrations, free concerts, and event merchandise. The festivals are included with park admission, although there is a fee for some of the extras.

11. Watch “Epcot Forever”

No day in Epcot is complete without a viewing of this nighttime extravaganza. Even though Epcot Forever has “Forever” in the title, keep in mind this nighttime spectacular is only a temporary one. Disney is working on a new nighttime spectacular for EPCOT called “HarmonioUS”. Disney has said this new show will be the biggest and most spectacular nighttime show yet! In the meantime, we’ll keep enjoying Epcot Forever at one of the many great viewing areas all along World Showcase.
