Finding Love Once Again

Burton has been quiet about his relationships since his 2014 split from actress Helena Bonham Carter. Their relationship shortly after meeting on Planet of the Apes (2001), and although the couple never married, they have two children together: Billy Raymond and Nell.

Recently, Burton has been seen with Monica Bellucci, the 59-year-old actress. The couple’s relationship grew while working on Beetlejuice 2 in London. The relationship was confirmed by Bellucci back in June during an interview where the actress revealed her love for Burton and how happy she was to have met him. Although Bellucci confirmed the relationship, it wasn’t until this month that the couple debuted together.

Red Carpet Debut

During the red carpet, even for the “Diabolik Chi Sei” premiere at the 18th Rome Film Festival, Burton and Bellucci were seen showing affection for one another. The festival took place at the Auditorium Parco Della Musica in Rome.

As the couple made their way down the red carpet in their stunning, dark attire, they were photographed holding hands as they posed for pictures. Another picture captured Burton affectionately around Bellucci as they entered the event together.

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

Tim Burton began his work with Disney in the 1980s when he worked at Walt Disney Studios as an animator—his time there only lasted four years before he was fired.

Burton worked on films such as Frankenweenie (1984) as the director, and James and the Giant Peach (1996) as the producer, but Jack Skellington put him on the map with Disney fans.

What Burton is genuinely known for in the Disney community is his iconic work on the Halloween (or Christmas) story The Nightmare Before Christmas. As this film’s writer, producer, and creator, Burton’s name is constantly connected to Disney each holiday season when this movie comes back to Disney parks.

The film follows Jack Skellington, Halloweentown’s beloved pumpkin king, as he stumbles into Christmastown. The new, bright colors and warm spirits in Christmastown give Jack a new look at life. To bring the joy and happiness of Christmastown with him, Jack plans to kidnap Santa Claus. The kidnapping doesn’t go according to his plan, but the misadventures lead to Jack learning a valuable lesson.

Jack in Disney

Starting with the first Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party in August, Jack Skellington and Sally begin meeting guests at Walt Disney World. In the Magic Kingdom, these two beloved characters visit with guests inside Town Square Theatre.

As the season changes to Christmas in the Magic Kingdom, Jack and Sally switch up their costumes as Jack becomes Sandy Claws. They continue to meet in Town Square Theatre during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

Like Jack and Sally, we are thrilled that the man who dreamed up their story has also found happiness.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
