Originally, the show was slated to open in fall 2024, but unforeseen challenges led to the decision to push the debut back.

For the role of Ariel, Disney is looking for a spirited, adventurous, and curious mermaid princess. To qualify, actors should fall within the height range of 5’2″ to 5’6”, possess a lyrical pop soprano voice, and have the vocal ability to belt notes up to a C. Auditioning performers will be asked to prepare “Part of Your World” (Parts 1 and 2) and will need to showcase their acting skills through sides that highlight Ariel’s wonder and determination.
Prince Eric
The character of Prince Eric presents a contrasting but equally exciting opportunity. He is characterized as charismatic and courageous, embodying the spirit of a true romantic seeking his heart’s desire. Actors interested in portraying Eric should be between 5’10” and 6’0” in height. Audition Process and Schedules
The audition process for The Little Mermaid is already underway, with submissions accepted until December 11, 2024. Selected candidates will receive notifications by January 16, 2025. Following this, in-person callbacks are scheduled for January 29, 2025, in Orlando, FL, providing an exciting opportunity for candidates to further demonstrate their talents in front of casting directors.
Once the cast is finalized, rehearsals are expected to kick off in March or April 2025. This timeline allows ample opportunity to delve into the character nuances, choreography, and vocal arrangements necessary for a stunning presentation come summer 2025.
