Stitch Is Gone: Disney Removes Popular World of Disney Display
Regular visitors to Disney Springs know that even the smallest changes rarely go unnoticed.
Whether it’s a new mural, updated landscaping, or refreshed signage, Disney fans tend to spot differences almost immediately. That’s exactly what’s happening now after a familiar piece of the World of Disney storefront suddenly disappeared.

The large Stitch figure that has greeted guests outside one entrance to the store is no longer there, and Disney hasn’t explained why.
One of the Store’s Most Recognizable Details Is Gone
For years, Stitch has been perched above the World of Disney sign, stretching his arms across the entrance while flashing his signature grin. The playful display became one of those details guests often walked past without thinking—until it was suddenly missing.
Visitors recently noticed the character had been removed, leaving only the entrance below.
At the moment, Disney has not shared any information about why Stitch is gone or whether the figure will eventually return.
That uncertainty has naturally led fans to wonder whether this is simply a temporary project or something more permanent.
The Timing Could Offer a Clue
Although Disney hasn’t commented, the removal comes after exterior updates were made to World of Disney earlier this year.
The store received replacement signage as part of ongoing work, so it’s possible Stitch was taken down while Disney continues refreshing portions of the building. If that’s the case, guests could eventually see the character return once work is complete.

Of course, that’s only speculation.
Disney has yet to announce any plans involving the display, so visitors will have to wait for an official update.
World of Disney Is a Disney Springs Staple
As the largest Disney merchandise location at Walt Disney World, World of Disney draws thousands of guests every day.
The massive store carries apparel, toys, collectibles, home décor, seasonal products, accessories, and merchandise representing nearly every corner of the Disney brand. Many guests stop by at least once during every vacation, whether they’re looking for a souvenir or simply browsing the latest collections.
Because the store serves as such a popular destination, its exterior has become just as recognizable as many of the products inside.
That’s one reason Stitch’s disappearance caught so much attention so quickly.
Stitch Remains One of Disney’s Biggest Characters
Few Disney characters have maintained their popularity the way Stitch has.
Since the release of Lilo & Stitch (2002), the lovable alien has become one of Disney’s most successful merchandising stars. Plush toys, clothing, Loungefly backpacks, pins, mugs, ornaments, and seasonal collections featuring Stitch continue to sell throughout the year.

His personality also makes him a natural fit for playful displays like the one outside World of Disney.
Seeing that familiar figure missing feels unusual for guests who visit Disney Springs regularly.
Waiting for Disney’s Next Move
For now, there’s no indication that the missing Stitch figure affects the shopping experience inside World of Disney.
The store remains open as usual, and guests can still browse its enormous selection of Disney merchandise.
Still, many longtime visitors will probably keep glancing toward the entrance during future trips to see whether Stitch has returned to his usual spot.
Sometimes Disney’s smallest changes end up generating the biggest conversations, and this appears to be one of those moments.
