You Won’t See This Mickey Mouse Exhibit Anywhere Else!

If you’re a fan of M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E, you won’t want to miss the all-new exhibit dedicated to the iconic animation history of Disney’s Mickey Mouse.

The upcoming exhibition opens this month in Southern California and will “focus on some of Mickey Mouse’s greatest achievements,” harkening back to early Walt Disney animation history in honor of the Disney 100 Years of Wonder Celebration. For instance, Guests on the museum-style tour will note artifacts and images related to some of the character’s most beloved early appearances, such as Lonesome Ghosts (1937), Mickey’s Birthday Party (1942), Fantasia (1940), and Mickey’s Delayed Date (1947).

Of course, his iconic feature in Steamboat Willie (1928) is also included, as well as more modern depictions such as 1990’s The Prince and the Pauper, 2004’s The Three Mouseketeers, and even Disney Channel’s Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! So, how can fans gain access to this exclusive exhibition?

Well, you’ll have to take a trip down to Mickey’s Toontown. That’s right, the all-new “Mickey Through The Ears” exhibit, curated by none other than Minnie Mouse, pays tribute to Toontowns “hometown hero.”

Located within the queue for Disneyland’s Mickey & Minnie Runaway Railway dark ride attraction, the highly detailed waiting area features the iconic outfits and “real” props from Mickey’s film career, which true to the canon established in 1988’s Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, involves animated characters acting in front of a camera. Some of the items Guests will see include the Mousekedoer and the Handy Helper, costumes from “Mousercise” and “Disco Mickey,” and even one aircraft from 1928’s Plane Crazy (the other already had a home within Mickey’s house).

On the ride itself and its impressive themed queue, Walt Disney Imagineering’s Portfolio Executive Producer, Jeff Shaver-Moskowitz, said:

At Disneyland Park, the attraction takes place at the El CapiTOON Theater in Mickey’s Toontown, the land’s hometown theater and the place where Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their friends ‘prem-ear’ all of their movies for its citizens. Because of the excitement for their new film ‘Perfect Picnic,’ Minnie worked with the Toontown Hysterical Society to put an exhibit in the attraction’s queue.

Of course, in true Imagineer fashion, there’s plenty to find both inside Mickey Through The Ears and throughout the rest of the line, including a pun-filled, fun-filled concessions stand. Guests can see it all when Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway opens at the Disneyland Resort on January 27, 2023.
