Disney World Changes Original Landscape of French ‘Ratatouille’ Area

A set of aging trees outside a popular Pixar ride is coming out, but the change isn’t happening in Florida. It’s taking place at Disney Adventure World in Disneyland Paris Resort, where the plaza in front of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is getting fresh landscaping.

Many Walt Disney World Resort guests know Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure as the top draw in the France World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT. The trackless 3-D ride is actually the second version of an idea that debuted in 2014 at Disneyland Paris Resort’s second gate, Disney Adventure World, formerly known as Walt Disney Studios Park.

The Paris version reopened this March after an extensive interior refurbishment that the ride badly needed. Now the resort appears to be turning its attention to the area outside the Worlds of Pixar attraction.

On October 21, X user @DLPReport shared photos of the plaza outside the ride. They show that the resort is replacing some of the trees in the area, which have stood for 12 years. The post read:

Even with the landscaping work, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure continues to operate normally at Disney Adventure World. Following the long closure that ended earlier this year, Disneyland Paris Resort hasn’t announced another refurbishment for the ride.

In Florida, Walt Disney Imagineers recently converted the EPCOT version of the ride from 3-D to 2-D. They removed the glasses guests wear and added complementary physical set props.

The tree replacement comes during a period of upheaval at Disneyland Paris Resort. Beyond scheduled refurbishments of attractions and restaurants, Disney recently put up plywood barriers and construction equipment for unexplained maintenance projects across Adventureland and Fantasyland.

Have you noticed any other changes at the Disney parks? Disney Dining would love to hear from you in the comments!
