Ray Magnet Mystery Solved: Disney Sends Surprise to Select Guests

If you’re one of those Disney World Annual Passholders who happened to stroll through EPCOT between February 17 and 28 this year, there’s a chance something magical is headed to your mailbox.

It turns out Disney has started mailing out the Ray Annual Passholder magnet—a small but mighty gift that left fans disappointed when its pickup window ended abruptly at the park.

Earlier in the year, Disney announced that the Ray-themed magnet would be available to Passholders through the end of February. But right in the middle of the month, the My Disney Experience app dropped a surprise update: the magnet would no longer be available for pickup at EPCOT after February 16. That sudden change left a lot of Passholders scrambling or missing out altogether.

To make up for the mix-up, Disney switched gears and started handing out a Minnie Mouse magnet to guests visiting EPCOT between February 17 and 28. And for those who really wanted Ray? Disney said they might be eligible to have one shipped—if their contact info was current.

Now, those magnets are landing in mailboxes across the country. Each one comes with a thank-you letter from Disney, recognizing the Passholder’s visit during the specified window. It’s a classy move—and one that’s gotten some positive buzz from the Annual Passholder community.

While it may seem like a small gesture, these magnets are actually a big deal for a lot of Disney fans. Over the years, they’ve become something of a collector’s item. Many display them proudly at home, in their cars, or in carefully curated collections. And Ray—everyone’s favorite firefly from The Princess and the Frog—is definitely one of the more unique designs.

Moments like this help remind fans why they love being part of the Annual Passholder program. Sure, it comes with perks like park access and discounts, but the unexpected surprises—like a magnet in the mail months after your visit—really make the experience feel personalized.

If you were one of the guests at EPCOT during that late-February period, be sure to double-check your mailbox. And if your magnet hasn’t arrived yet, it might still be on the way.
