Watch out Snow White fans, Rachel Zegler has made comments on this film again.
Rachel Zegler’s rise to fame began when she was cast in the lead role of Maria in Spielberg’s highly anticipated remake of the classic musical West Side Story. Her casting marked a significant breakthrough in her career, as she beat out thousands of actresses during the audition process. Rachel Zegler is now starring in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (2023), the newest Hunger Games prequel. She plays the role of Lucy Gray Baird, the female tribute from District 12.

As for any connection between Rachel Zegler and Disney, it’s essential to note that relationships between actors and major entertainment companies can take various forms. Disney, as one of the largest and most influential entertainment conglomerates, has been known for collaborating with talented individuals across the industry. Rachel Zegler is set to star as Snow White in the new live-action Snow White film. While Zegler should make a wonderful princess, her comments have made many fans feel otherwise. “I just mean that it’s no longer 1937,” Zegler said. “We absolutely wrote a ‘Snow White’ that … she’s not going to be saved by the prince, and she’s not going to be dreaming about true love; she’s going to be dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be and that her late father told her that she could be if she was fearless, fair, brave and true.”

While Zegler and Disney have faced backlash over the comments Zegler has made, Disney is sticking by her side. Snow White News tweeted on X (formally known as X) about Zelger’s newest comments about the live-action Snow White. Zegler says that they have been working tirelessly to make a beautiful movie and that she is excited for everyone to see it.

Zegler’s pushback had caused a stir and some fans even believed her removal from Paddington 3 had to do with it, but it actually had to do with the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. Disney recently announced that Snow White is being pushed back due to the strikes in Hollywood and now will be released on March 21, 2025, instead of the original March 22, 2024.
