Popular Character Pulled From Disney Park After Just One Week

Disney’s Star Wars meet-and-greets aren’t what they used to be. The era of static encounters with Darth Vader and Chewbacca has given way to rotating appearances and unscheduled walkarounds, designed to make character sightings feel more immersive—and less predictable.

At Disneyland Paris, Star Wars characters still draw consistent attention across Discoveryland, a Tomorrowland-adjacent space that houses two major franchise attractions. But the chance to meet one of the galaxy’s most beloved characters—at least for now—has just ended.

Ahsoka’s Limited Run Comes to an End

Ahsoka Tano—once a divisive animated addition to the Star Wars universe, now a central figure in the live-action canon—has completed her limited-time run at Disneyland Paris. The former Jedi Padawan, introduced in The Clone Wars and most recently portrayed by Rosario Dawson in Ahsoka, started her run at the park on May 4, also known as Star Wars Day.

But as planned, her appearance was brief. Today was Ahsoka’s final day in the lineup.

During her stint, Ahsoka alternated appearances with the ever-popular Mandalorian and Grogu, part of an ongoing strategy to rotate characters in and out of visibility. It’s unclear when—or if—she’ll be back.

Unlike U.S. parks, where Galaxy’s Edge often hosts surprise appearances from Din Djarin, Boba Fett, and Kylo Ren, Disneyland Paris relies on more traditional formats. That makes each character drop-in feel more like an event—especially for characters like Ahsoka, who’ve only recently crossed into live-action stardom.

‘Star Wars’ in Paris

Even without Galaxy’s Edge, Disneyland Paris offers a respectable slice of the Star Wars experience. Hyperspace Mountain remains a crowd-pleaser, transforming the classic coaster into a high-stakes space battle backed by John Williams’ score. Nearby, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue keeps its ride experience fresh with randomized storylines and destinations, including planets featured in recent films and shows.

Character encounters still have a place, too. Guests can meet Darth Vader or Chewbacca at Starport, while Rey has occasionally made surprise appearances. Discoveryland also hosts the adorable BDX droids—interactive characters that roam the area until later this month. For merchandise, the Star Traders boutique offers everything from lightsabers to limited-edition collectibles.

Still, the Parisian Star Wars presence remains noticeably more fragmented than its American counterparts. Galaxy’s Edge was once slated for Walt Disney Studios Park—soon to be rebranded as Disney Adventure World—but those plans have seemingly vanished. The rumored land is now thought to be replaced by an expansion themed to The Lion King, with Disney offering no formal update on the switch.

Some fans speculate that Star Wars may eventually land at Disneyland Park instead as an expansion of Discoveryland, though no timeline or confirmation has ever followed.
