Watch out regular Disney Parks goers, today is May the Fourth, aka Star Wars Day. It might be best to make some room over at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios and let the Star Wars fanatics have their moment. Otherwise, you might be stuck in wall-to-wall people and endure extended wait times at Star Wars-themed attractions.

Check out the crowd around The Mandalorian and Grogu as they try to make their way through the park. I circled them in red and drew some arrows just so you can tell where they are!

Attractions Magazine

Galaxy’s Edge is a Star Wars land located in both Disneyland Resort in California as well as Disney World. Guests have been enjoying the area in Florida since August 2019. Attractions include an immersive ride called Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

The atmosphere is a highly detailed recreation of the fictional planet Batuu, with galactic-themed dining, outpost shops, and entertainment. Star Wars characters are usually available to meet across Hollywood Studios at Star Wars Launch Bay. Guests will often come across stormtroopers, Kylo Ren, and more.

Disney

The Mandalorian and Grogu (AKA Baby Yoda) were popularized by the hit Disney Plus television series The Mandalorian (2019). These small-screen Star Wars characters roam around Galaxy’s edge instead of having a set meet and greet line like most character experiences at Walt Disney World.

Today, the pair may have been forced to stay in one spot, as the massive crowd easily outnumbered them and their character attendant. Good thing the Mandalorian never shows his face, because he is probably very stressed under that helmet.

Disney

Naturally, a true Star Wars fan would want to immersive themself in the saga’s atmosphere on the fandom’s biggest holiday! That’s why I suggest you spend May 4th at another Disney Park if you’re not a die-hard Star Wars fan. Not only will you avoid the extra crowd, but you’ll also basically have the other Parks all to yourself.

Plus if you still want to get in the spirit without all the hype, enjoy Star Wars-themed treats available throughout Disney property for the occasion!

EPCOT anyone?

About Lana Porter

Lana has never lost a Disney Trivia night. Maybe it’s the hundreds of times she’s been to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, her love for Disney’s ’90’s era hand-animated musicals, or the fact that she’s often likened to cartoon characters, but Disney and its magic have a special place in her heart. Her favorite Disney experiences include the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, eating Mickey Bars on the PeopleMover, and crying during the Magic Kingdom fireworks show. One day she hopes to be chosen as the rebel spy on Star Tours. When Lana isn’t Park Hopping, she’s at home reading books of all topics, watching her favs on Disney+, or snuggling her two cats, which she swears are not named after Disney characters. She loves surprising people with her knowledge of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but admits she is still catching up with Star Wars. She is happy to combine her excitement for writing with her love for Disney-style storytelling and share what she can with the world!
