Police Respond to Disney World-Area Emergency Involving Reported “Child Neglect”

An early morning police response near Walt Disney World is raising questions after an emergency call was classified as “child neglect.”

The incident unfolded Sunday morning, September 6, in the Flamingo Crossings area, a busy development located near the western edge of Walt Disney World Resort.

While the initial call has been documented, there are still very few details about exactly what happened.

“Child Neglect” Call Reported Early Sunday

According to WDW Active Crime, a service that tracks law enforcement activity around Walt Disney World, the call came in at approximately 6:46 a.m.

The incident was listed as “child neglect,” with Flamingo Crossings Boulevard identified as the location. The call has since been marked as cleared.

However, that initial classification does not tell us the full story.

Authorities have not publicly released information about what led to the call, the age or condition of the child, or whether a parent or guardian was involved. There is also currently no public information indicating that an arrest was made.

Until additional records become available, it would be premature to draw conclusions about what happened.

Flamingo Crossings Covers a Large Disney World-Area Development

The location also requires some clarification.

Flamingo Crossings is a large development near Walt Disney World that includes hotels, restaurants, stores, and other businesses. Flamingo Crossings Village, which houses many Disney College Program participants, is also nearby.

There is currently no confirmation that the child neglect call originated from Disney College Program housing.

Likewise, the available information does not indicate that the emergency occurred inside a Walt Disney World theme park or Disney Resort hotel.

Questions Remain About the Police Response

For now, the confirmed information remains limited to the initial call.

Police responded to Flamingo Crossings Boulevard early Sunday morning following a call categorized as child neglect. The incident was later cleared from the active call system.

More information may eventually provide context about what deputies encountered and whether the initial classification remained accurate following their response.

Until then, the exact circumstances surrounding the Disney World-area emergency remain unclear.
