All of the Disney Resorts boast amazing pools, and Fort Wilderness is no exception. The best of the pool options at this resort is the Meadow Pool, which includes a water slide, a kiddie play area, a kiddie pool, and of course, a wonderful hot tub. That said, if you’re looking for a quieter swim, the other onsite pool might be a better fit for you.

4. Pony and Carriage Rides
Those who enjoy a good pony ride or want to explore the campground at a more leisurely pace will be happy to learn that pony rides and carriage rides are both offered at Fort Wilderness. The pony rides are for younger guests ages 2 and up who are under 80 lbs and below 48 inches tall. Meanwhile, carriage rides can be taken by absolutely anyone and they provide a relaxing tour of the property.
5. Dinner Show
What’s better than an amazing dinner? An amazing dinner and a hilarious show, of course! The Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue offers both of these things in true Disney Style. The food consists of favorites such as fried chicken and corn on the cob. Meanwhile, the show is a good, clean comedy presentation that the entire family can enjoy together. Be sure to book ahead of time so you have a seat for this memorable evening activity.
6. Wonderful Comfort Food
Believe it or not, the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue isn’t the only awesome place to get amazing food in Fort Wilderness. The eatery is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and even has a takeout option in case you prefer to eat at your own campsite.
7. Campfires
One of the most unique things offered at Fort Wilderness is the nightly campfire. Sure, this isn’t the only resort to have campfires, but it is the only resort to have a live musician and character meet-and-greets to go along with the fun. Chip n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-a-Long is super fun for every age, and the best part is, it’s absolutely free! Just bring your s’mores fixins (or buy some from the nearby snack cart) and get ready to sing, dance, and have a good time.
8. Movies Under the Stars
Each night, just after the amazing campfire party and in the same area, Fort Wilderness also shows a Disney Movie on a huge outdoor screen. This is the perfect opportunity to catch some classic flicks as you wind down for the evening. The snack cart remains open for those who want treats, and there is plenty of seating for everyone.
9. Lakeside Nighttime Entertainment
Last but not least, we must mention the awesome nighttime entertainment that can be seen from the beach at Fort Wilderness. The Magic Kingdom fireworks are clearly visible from here, and the Electrical Water Pageant passes right by. Depending on the time of year, you may even be able to catch both of these things without missing out on the campfire!
