A fan-favorite attraction is closing, and some Guests will be very disappointed.
Everyone has a favorite Disney Parks ride. Or two. Or three. It’s the ride (or rides) that we cannot leave the parks without experiencing, no matter how many times we’ve ridden. It never gets old, and no visit to the parks is complete without experiencing it just once more. But thanks to the weather, maintenance schedules, and refurbishments, there are times when skipping our favorite attractions is unavoidable. Not fun–but unavoidable, nonetheless.
Such is the case with the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Like other rides, the swashbuckling experience at Disney Parks around the globe, including Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, Disneyland Park at Disneyland Resort, and Tokyo Disneyland at Tokyo Disney Resort, among others, has to be maintained and refurbished from time to time. After all, there are scores of audio-animatronic robots inside the attraction. Those scurvy, unnamed pirates, as well as other, better-known characters–like the incomparable Jack Sparrow–must be maintained and cared for. Heck, even their clothes have to be changed periodically.
At Tokyo Disneyland in Japan, the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction is closing, per the resort’s website. The pirates-themed attraction is one of the dozens of attractions slated for lengthy closures this year at Tokyo Disney Resort. From October 3, 2023, to October 27, 2023, the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction will be closed at Tokyo Disneyland, meaning that Guests who love the ride and are visiting during that time will sadly feel the terrible disappointment of missing a favorite ride during a trip to a Disney Park.
