Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is based on the in-universe origin story of the Buzz Lightyear action figure from the Toy Story franchise. As such, the interactive dark ride is full of little green men, Evil Emperor Zurg, and Buzz Lightyear himself.
Throughout the attraction, Guests shoot at Evil Emperor Zurg’s targets and prevent him from gaining any batteries after being given a great pep talk by an iconic Buzz Lightyear figure.

Ultimately, the Guests save the day, defeat Zurg, and receive praise from another iconic Buzz Lightyear Figure. Needless to say, this attraction is a huge hit. That is why it comes as little surprise to hear that a similar ride exists across the pond in Disneyland Paris.
Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast is the Disneyland Paris version of this attraction. Its imagery and interactive game mechanics are incredibly similar, especially with its iconic Buzz Lightyear figure. However, this recent video shows that the beloved Buzz Lightyear animatronic was having an off day and behaving very strangely.
@charlotte98skywalker My laugh kills me, I was waiting to to show them how cool Buzz looks and then I got this 💀 #toystory #buzzlightyear #disneyland #dlp #disneylandparis #disney
Instead of the moving limbs, projected face, and motivational speech, the Buzz Lightyear animatronic is awkwardly slumped over, not moving an inch! Almost as if Andy has come back into the room, and the Buzz Lightyear action figure has decided to ‘play dead’ to avoid being discovered.
