Oga’s Cantina is one of the most coveted dining experiences at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort; reservations often fill up within seconds of opening, months in advance. The bar, located in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, is undoubtedly a luxury experience, featuring light snacks, nonalcoholic drinks, and signature cocktails that cost as much as $46.
Unfortunately, many Disney Parks fans say Oga’s Cantina doesn’t live up to the hype. Redditor u/ Sleepy_Muppet_fan recently spurred a conversation about the Batuu restaurant after sharing their disappointing experience at the Disneyland Park location.
Oga’s cantina was cool- the cast members were not.

The Disneyland Resort guest said the drinks and appetizers were “delicious,” but the employees’ behavior toward their sister ruined the entire experience. When the guest’s sister asked to use the restroom, Disney cast members directed her to the nearest location, outside Oga’s Cantina.
“A cast member that worked in the cantina guided her to one near the cantina while she was having a drink and while we were at our tables,” the Disney Park guest explained. “When she came back, they refused to allow her to go back into the Cantina and sit with us. She explained to them that our family was already seated and drinking in there but they didn’t believe her. They told her to ‘wait in line’ like everyone else.”
The guest’s sister looked for the Disney cast member who guided her to no avail.
“To top it all off, the cast members who wouldn’t let her in were talking bad about my sister while she was standing there, trying to figure things out,” they continued. “She didn’t have her wallet or even her phone, as she accidentally left them on the table. She eventually snuck in when they were not looking. Overall, I’m very disappointed with the cast members that work there. They should’ve walked with her into the Cantina.”
Disney Parks fans were disappointed to hear about the guest’s experience but not surprised.
“They’re always on one there,” u/Nap_n_fap commented. “One time the server brought my first round of drinks and was super rude saying we were over time and I said we just got there and she wasn’t having it. I even showed her the actual text message and she still wasn’t having it. Now I always feel super rushed to make my choices and get them in and there isn’t a lot of joy in it anymore.”
“I’ve usually been fine once inside and at the bar (though it isn’t always the fastest) but the people monitoring the line itself are routinely absolutely out of their minds, even at really quiet times in the park,” u/more-read-than-eddit replied.
Many Walt Disney World Resort fans said the Disney’s Hollywood Studios location isn’t much better.
“Bartender acted like he didn’t want to be there and that we were bothering him when we placed our order,” u/Illustrious_Gene_774 wrote. “I’m in the service industry and I really don’t understand how most of these Disney employees are so sour.”
“This was such a bad experience for my poor husband,” said u/Pass-O-Guava. “He was just so looking forward to all of the Star Wars things…especially having a drink at Oga’s. Bartender was just a freaking ass, seating hosts not much better.”
Other Disney Parks fans complained about the lack of seating, time limits, and being forced to share tables with strangers. Most said Oga’s Cantina was a one-and-done experience for their family.
“Oga’s sucks,” u/spuckula said. “I’ve been there twice. Severely underwhelmed both times. Food, drinks, ambiance. All very formulaic and rushed. They missed with this one.”
“This was such a one and done for us. We were told they had no booths available, despite every single booth being open,” u/LeonaLulu recalled. “Our server didn’t come by for a solid 15-20 minutes. He kept running by saying he’d be right back. He was cool, and very overworked, but we ordered and by the time we got our drinks, our time was almost up. My kids were sick of standing, and not a single booth was sat during our time there.”

This is just Disney now. 20 years ago when I first went, pre any of this social media nonsense age, there was wonder and excitement everything was new. The staff would travel all around the world just to be there and live out their own fantasies. Now it filled with teenagers just doing this to get through college, while the company gives them subpar wages for them to deal with a stupidly higher number of guests. I remember everyone having a smile, everyone saying hello, staff members high fiving people. It was an experience for everyone involved. You’ll be lucky to get a smile from 9/10. Leave your wallet at the gate and go home is more akin to modern Disney
We have been to Oga’s twice. The 1st time was when it 1st opened, and in order to get a reservation, we had to participate in early entry, which at the time was still an hour before normal opening time. Our reservation was for 7:20 am. I guess it’s always 5:00 somewhere! The drinks were tasty and unique, the service friendly and expedient.
Our 2nd time was early December of 2024. We were already in the park, and it was about 10:30 am. I was looking for a place to eat and stumbled in open reservations for Oga’s. Of course, I jumped on them, because how often does that happen? Our reservation was for 12:40, and we arrived at 12:30 and were seated within 5 minutes. We had 2 seats at the bar. Our bartender was very nice, funny, attentive and made a really good drink. He,was able to answer all our questions and provide great recommendations. Our drinks wee amazing, service top notch, and we never felt rushed. We will definitely be returning!!!
It’s a shame that Disney & it’s employees & mgmt staff at many of the parks feel the way they do towards the company they work for,you know always having bad attitudes & etc, BUT there’s no reason for them to take it out on customers/guests. I seriously think the public should consider boycotting the parks, that’s the ONLY WAY I see & think the attitudes & etc of Disney,Universal & other theme parks will change.
I loved the experience of going to Ogas cantina but one thing spolit it. I have been charged 2 times on my debit card, once for the original amount of $150 and the second amount of $150 plus the tip added. It was over a week ago and the amount still says authorised but not completed. My advice is to pay the tip using cash if possible.
Only been to twice. First time was early in its inception. Cool but not as grand as it is presented. You can’t see a lot unless you walk around. Second time we stood at a table and service sucked. Couldn’t get a server to save our soul. The whole time limit thing sucks too. What is this? Jack in the Box? (30 min limit there)
