The Germany Pavilion at EPCOT has a joke built into its premise that most guests never notice.
It is always Oktoberfest there. Not during October. Always.
Biergarten has run an Oktoberfest buffet with live polka every day of the year for decades, which means a family visiting in March gets the same accordion, the same communal tables, and the same long dining hall as a family visiting during the actual festival in Munich.
That commitment is why the pavilion works. It is not a seasonal decoration. It is the whole concept.
So new signage announcing Oktoberfest is worth a closer look.
New banners are up at Biergarten and Sommerfest, arriving alongside construction work in the pavilion that Disney has not publicly detailed.
The Walkway Banners
Yellow shield-shaped banners now hang between the planters along the walkway posts.
They identify the space as “Der Biergarten,” advertising “Authentic German Cuisine and Lively Entertainment.”
A green square in the center reads “Celebrating Oktoberfest Every Day,” ringed by a folk art design of red and yellow flower buds.
That design is the part worth stopping to look at.
The floral work draws from Bauernmalerei, a traditional German and Austrian folk painting style that translates roughly to farmer’s painting. It is the tradition behind the painted furniture, chests, and shutters found throughout Alpine regions, built around flowers, scrollwork, and saturated color on plain backgrounds.
Using it here is genuinely correct rather than generic Bavarian decoration. It is regional, historically specific, and it belongs on a building modeled after a German town square.

Over the Entrance
A green banner with scalloped edges welcomes guests to Oktoberfest above the restaurant entrance.
It advertises the German Buffet and “Live Polka Musik,” framed by the same botanical design.
The German spelling of Musik is small, and it is exactly the kind of small thing separating real theming from a sign that just says Oktoberfest in a serif font.
Over Sommerfest
A similar banner hangs on the Sommerfest quick-service side, with a different focus.
Instead of the buffet, it advertises snacks: bratwurst, pretzels, and “bier & wein.”
Sensible split. The two locations serve completely different purposes, and signage that distinguishes them helps guests choose between a sit-down meal and a pretzel on the go.
Biergarten Details
The price point surprises people, so worth stating plainly.
- Hours: noon to 8 p.m., lunch and dinner
- Adults: $49
- Children ages 3 to 9: $28
- Alcohol costs extra
Live polka runs throughout service, and seating is communal. You will likely share a table with strangers. Some guests love that. Some do not. Know it before booking.
Sommerfest Details
Walk-up counter, noon to 8 p.m., no reservation needed.
- Bratwurst on a pretzel roll with sauerkraut and house-made paprika chips, $12.69
- Jumbo Pretzel, plant-based, $12.49
- House-made Obatzda Cheese Dip, $1.50 as an enhancement
- Pretzel Bread Pudding, $4.79
That Obatzda add-on is one of the better values in World Showcase. Rich, creamy, genuinely traditional Bavarian spread, and it turns a plain pretzel into something far more interesting for pocket change.
EPCOT Food and Wine Items
With the festival running, Sommerfest is also serving:
- Zwiebelkuchen, German onion cake with caramelized onions, bacon, herbs, and savory custard, $9.79
- Cinnamon Pretzel Cold Brew, Joffrey’s Cold Brew with sweet cream, caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, and pretzel pieces, $6.49
The Zwiebelkuchen comes in sesame and shellfish allergy-friendly preparations.
The Beer
Germany runs one of the strongest beer lineups in World Showcase, with souvenir steins currently available.
20-ounce drafts: Warsteiner Dunkel at $13.25, Bitburger Premium Pilsner at $12.50, Schöfferhofer Pink Grapefruit Hefeweizen at $12.50.
Same three at 24 ounces in a German Vintage Souvenir Stein, $21.00 to $21.75.
Worth the math. The stein adds four ounces and a keepsake for roughly $8 more. Good deal if you want the stein, poor one if you do not.
The Unexplained EPCOT Construction
Context worth noting.
The Germany Pavilion has been undergoing construction that Disney has not publicly detailed, with an extra bar open during the work.
New banners are a small, visible update landing in the middle of something larger and unannounced.
That does not mean they are connected. Signage refreshes happen independently all the time. But guests walking through right now will encounter both.
Go Look
During the 2026 EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival, Germany is having a genuinely good moment. New signage, festival items, the full buffet, and a beer list that holds up against anything on the promenade.
And the banners are a reminder of something easy to forget. Disney did not add Oktoberfest theming for the season. It has been Oktoberfest there every day for decades. The new signs just say it out loud.
